Scarlet, darling―you are just to gal I wanted to talk to. Per chance, have you been riffling through my personal study?
Ha, what a preposterous question. Of course you haven’t; you don’t even know where I reside. However, I felt it appropriate to ask. Earlier this morning, I found an open book lying on my desk; and, I don’t recall fetching it myself. The book is titled “The Quintessential Elements of Alchemy.”
Hmm, are you familiar with what alchemy is? It wouldn’t surprise me if you weren’t. I’ll explain it to you.
Alchemy, at it’s core, is science. It began as a primitive form chemistry. However, as time went on, alchemy also became a philosophy and a minor religion.
You see, on of the main principles of alchemy is the “Law of Equivalent Exchange.” Now, real alchemist do not call it that; that phrase was coined by a popular Japanese anime. However, the bases and principles are exactly the same. The law says this: materials and substances may transformed into other materials. The official term is “transmutation.” However, a transmutation may only occur if there is an equal amount of another substance to replace it.
Here is an example: an alchemist wishes to create three pounds of gold; all the alchemist has is coal. He must supply enough coal so that the mass, volume, and weight would be that of the three pounds.
Simple, right?
Do you see why this became a popular philosophy? A great deal of people turned to the failed science, when they suffered a great loss.
Scarlet, my dear, you’ve suffered such a loss haven’t you? The loss of your niece or nephew. My dear, I am truly sorry. A baby’s life is precious; I know it meant something to you.
Tell me, is that why you went so hard on Zelda? Now, I know you plan was to hurt her all along. You said the best way to hurt someone is to reach out and touch someone close to them. She was the obvious victim, there was no other option.
But, her baby, that’s a curious subject. Did you think taking the baby’s life would help ease your pain?
Or, did you simply just want to take out the baby?
Questions, so many questions.
But, what is clear is that you have changed. Most would say that you’ve changed for the worst. But, I must say, i like the change. You are no longer a “savage.” You are something much more, vicious.
And that viciousness has come right in time. You will need it. Your actions, while very lovely, has stirred something up in Mr. Storm. However, I know you are prepared―
So, go forth.
