It was almost impossible to make out any details of the people that filled the room. It was too dark. All you could tell was that there was a huge crowd, at least one hundred people, all crammed into one large hall. All stood still. All stood in silence. It was as if these people were waiting for something, for someone.
The sound of footsteps caused a pathway to the center of the room to form. The masked Ace Watson appears at the opening to the pathway, a spotlight shining on him. He walks, slowly but with intent, through the crowd. All of the people have turned to face Watson, the spotlight passing by the people at the edge of the pathway, revealing in small details that they too are wearing masks. Although, they are different to the one Ace himself is wearing.
The pathway closes as Ace reaches the center of the hall, leaving a large open circle for Watson to stand in, with the entire crowd of people still stood still and stood silently, facing Watson.
"Lights." Ace commands, calmly. And as he does, the room is illuminated revealing that every single person in the room (except Watson) is wearing a replica of the mask Seth Iser wore years ago. A wicked smile appears on Watson's face, and an even more wicked laugh comes from him.
Watson's laugh faded away and he started walking around the circumference of the circle formed for him, eyeing each and every masked person at the edge of it. He seemed to enjoy seeing each person wearing the Iser mask more than the last, as if he was finding something new in each one, when really they were all identical.
"What I would give to drop Seth Iser in here now." He said to himself.
"I don't think he'd be able to control himself lashing out at each and every one of you." He spoke to himself again, enjoying the thought of it.
"But he wouldn't stand a chance."
He stopped his walk around the circle and stood back in the center. "At Breakthrough I failed to take Constance Chapin to the place I took Kincaid not long before. I blame her lack of experience with anger. Even if I didn't believe her when she said she had rarely felt it."
"But you, Iser. You know all about it. You've been in the same place as I am now. See I'm well aware of how broken I am. Of what I'm doing to myself."
"I just don't care."
"Iser, I don't need your warnings, or your help, or anything. At Darkest Hour, I'm going to take you back to that place, to that anger, to that world that you thought you had left behind."
"No matter what you say, or do, I won't change who I am."
