OOC: I refuse to no show but fuuuucking shit, I might as well have with this RP. Deadline snuck up on me fast with working being a distraction. My apologies to my opponents for a lackluster showing. >_< You can decide to skip this all together.

May 15th, 2016 - Breakthrough 45, Chicago Ridge, Illinois
The moment Max stepped through back through the curtain to the back, an official stolled up to him with a message.
“Are you… Maxwell… So-lo-ke?”
The pronunciation made Max cringe a bit, but he nodded. “So-loke, but yes.”
“Oh, I’m sorry.” The official said, already hating this kid already. “Must come from England with a name like that. Anyway, the card for Breakthrough 46 is out. Sky was… impressed, to say the least, when you called out a good list of names. So much so that she decided not to feed you to the opening match… this time. You will be against Tristan Ambrose and, surprise surprise, Patrick Jones two matches off of the main event. Good luck, you’d better show up.”
With a cold shoulder, the official turned heel and left Max alone. The attitude didn’t bother him. Max felt like he was home again. As he started to leave, he noticed posters around the arena. Those posters were hyping up VOW’s Main Stage Pay-Per-View, Fate of the Gods.
Two events off of that, huh? Heh. No way in Hell you’re getting anything big this year, Max. But… just means you’ve got a whole year’s time to work towards next year’s. Maybe you’ll be the main event! Hah! Wouldn’t that be a thought…
Max kicked up some dust on the ground and left the arena with his duffle bag over his shoulder and his hands in his trenchcoat’s pockets.
Maybe I can at least start my climb for real at Heatstroke again.
Later the night - Hilton
Max set his belongings and coat down on a nearby chair before falling back on his bed with his cellphone in hand. Tristan Ambrose and Patrick Jones were the names he looked up. Patrick, he didn’t have to go far to find information on him again. The two of them had locked up before and the Disaster was proud to take the rematch again, even if it meant someone else was going to be getting in his way.
But, Tristan Ambrose. Former Terrordome combatant and World Champion in… that federation. He would make for an interesting opponent to say the least.
For now, though, it was time for bed. The contact-high from the VOW crowd’s energy was wearing thin on Max. Tomorrow was a new day. He’d do his full research then.
The Next Morning…
“... Datura? Who the Hell is this now?!”
May 16th, 2016. Another competitor had been added to the match by the name of Datura. His match had three competitors he had to deal with now. Today, he begins his research. With his laptop now on the bed, he looked over his opponents one by one.
Patrick Jones. Let’s start with you, then.
Breakthrough 45 was not a very good night for you. So close to having the match won… only to be choked out by… whatever the Hell a “Spaz” is. I’m not even sure I want to know.
I mean, hell, you haven’t won a match at all since December. Five months with nothing to show for it, Patty. That has to be weighing hard on your mind. I hope you bring your best like you did two years ago. I’d hate to fight the shell of a man who used to be able to call himself a Zero Gravity Champion.
What about this new lady, though? Datura…
Two losses make up her entire career here thus far. With a record like that, she might as well just be a jobber. But… there has to be more about her. Even her profile shows her as being a World Champion at one point in time. I’ve dealt with Patrick enough in the past to know just how to deal with him but Datura could use a bit more research.
Now, onto Tristan Ambrose--
PING!
A text message from VOW Management: “Tristan Ambrose has been taken off the Breakthrough 45 Card. Your match will now be a Triple Threat Match. Good luck!”
… Saves me the time, I suppose. Odds are more in my favor now as well.
Max pulled up Datura’s two matches in VOW and watched over them carefully, taking mental notes of each one. The match against Tristan Ambrose was a clinic against her favor but… her debut match was somewhat hard to watch.
Well… I can be thankful Tristan isn’t in this match. He completely wiped the floor with Datura but… poor .PAAK. Ruthless. She wanted to send a message. She wanted to show that she’s not afraid to break someone just to prove a point.
… She’s going to be a fun fight.
Max smirked a little to himself at the thought of being across the ring from both a former rival as well as ruthless femme fatale who’s only into her third VOW match.
I’m probably going to lose this match horribly… but hey, what’s a career without some highs and lows, right?
