The song “Liebe Ist Fuer Alle Da” by Rammstein hits the speakers like a machine gun to signify the arrival of the current Zero Gravity Champion. I can hear it from my locker room… the bitrate’s garbage on the file VoW has…
Jerry Heisenberg: Ladies and gentlemen, this next contest scheduled for one fall is for the VoW ZERO GRAAAVITY CHAMPIONSHIIIP! Introducing first, from Norwich, England, standing 5 feet, 10 inches tall, and weighing in tonight at 220 pounds… he is the current Zero Gravity Champion… ACE! WATSOOOOON!
His song plays for a little bit longer until it’s replaced by my theme, “Never Turn Back” by Crush 40. It sounds much clearer than Ace’s theme.
Jerry Heisenberg: And his opponent… being accompanied to the ring by Claire Daniels… from Crossville, Tennessee… standing 5 feet, 4 inches tall, and weighing in tonight at 117 pounds… she is the Cumberland Jet… KATIIIIIE… MOICEEEEEELLE!
The crowd cheers the loudest it possibly ever has for my arrival. They’re normally not this loud. But nonetheless, out Claire and I walk. I think I can speak for Axel when I say it is deafening in here. I make it to the ring, and give the crowd a thumbs up. Match of the night, here we go... Ace Watson versus Katie Moicelle for the Zero Gravity Championship.
Here goes nothing.

OK, ow, big clothesline… ow, ow, OW! I’m mounted… he’s punching me. Very hard, I must have hit a nerve. Still punching… ow… ow… OW! OW! Now, he’s picking me up… eww, his privates… no, wait… wait, WAIT!
Fightbreaker. Ow, my head…
I lift up my right shoulder, for some reason. I should have guessed Ace was just getting started. More punches… ow… ow… OWOWOW! Darn it! He gets up for just a second… I guess he’s taunting me. At least that gives me a second to breathe. Can I squirm over and trip him? OOH, nope, nope… no I can’t, because he’s got my legs. Ace has a cloverleaf locked… cinched in.
I scream out in pain… my legs weren’t meant for this. They weren’t meant to bend like that! OWOWOWOWOOOW! Thank goodness I was near ropes… but, that doesn’t stop anyone… especially Ace, who picks me up for what seems to be a reverse DDT… then he twists… and…
Disasterpiece. Again, OW, MY HEAD!
Again, I barely roll up a shoulder. Left one, this time. I don’t know why, as I can’t really fight back. Why am I prolonging this? Ace picks me right back up, presumably for a second finisher. He hooks my arms, and I fe--
Axel Reid: Ace just snapped Katie’s spine… literally…
That Ruby girl: Oh, dear… she’s dead, right?
Axel Reid: Does it have to be spelt out for you?
That Ruby girl: Do I have to care?
Ace goes for a rather sadistic pinfall at this point, as if he doesn’t know or care that he broke Katie’s spine, placing one foot on top of Katie’s carcass.

Location: Underground residence under Claire’s shop.
I awake with a scream… it was all a nightmare… déjà vu. I feel my back… and it’s in near-perfect order. Thank God. I look to my left, and there’s no Claire to be seen, until I hear stomping down the steps… Oh, double thank God… I wish I could form words right now. The stomping comes shortly after she’s heard the scream. Screw the register, it can count itself.
"What's wrong? What's wrong? What's wrong?"
Without giving me much of a chance to answer, she’s down on the bed by my side holding tightly to my hand with one of her own and brushing the other along my forehead. I’m breathing heavily, I’m sweaty all over… even down there…
“Ah… wr—wr—wrestl—wrestling—ah... ni—n—n—night—nightmare…”
Her hand strokes it's way over my hair, clearing my forehead for a landing of her lips.
"Wanna talk about it?"
“I—ah… w—wha—uh—mm… m—mayb—ee…”
Here come the tears. She can't help but giggle. She knows I’m going through a dilemma, but to her, I always look so cute whenever I’m nervous. Don’t know why. She stops giggling after a quick moment and takes hold of my other hand.
"Slow it down, kitten, think each word out slowly before you speak."
Because I haven’t been slow before… I can’t really form too many words. Instead, I just grab hold of her and hug her as tightly as I can. My breathing’s probably heavier and more panicked than it was before she got down here.
“J… ju—j—just… h—hol—hold me.”
Now she seems to be growing more concerned as she holds me close, hugging me against her chest as she starts stroking my hair again.
"If...if you don't wanna talk now, that's okay. We'll just keep it like this, sweetie."
I bury my eyes into her right shoulder… more specifically, the place right in front of the muscle.
I feel her smile. She must be glad as she thinks I’m getting better. She still keeps stroking my hair in the most comfortable way before leaning in kissing the top of my head. We won't say anything for now. All I need is her. Nothing special, just her to comfort me. I have a big sniffle as I stroke her hair as well. It’s all smooth and jet black and beautiful. She stops stroking and just cuddles me close.
"So what do you wanna do today? Your choice. I'll close up the store even."
“I…I j—just want—just want to feel better.”
At least now, I can kind of speak. Claire does a good job of calming me down all the time… it’s situations like this that I’m glad I’m set to marry her.
“You can help w—w—with that, right?”
"I'd be a pretty lousy girlfriend if I couldn't."
This time, I see her smile before she kisses my head once more. Either it was my imagination or she always smelled of strawberries.
"You wanna watch something? Or maybe cuddle like this some more?"
She thinks and then shrugs.
"I can get Zebe and he can do his special Zebe dance for ya."
“Or… we could do all of that?”
"Okay, I'll go and get Zebe and you get something to watch. Okay?"
She kisses my forehead and repeats:
Standing from the bed, she takes a couple steps back.
Claire opens up the closet where Zebe keeps an apartment on one of the shelves and smiles as she looks around the door toward me.
“Okay, okay…okay… what are you in the mood for, dear?”
"Something laugh out loud funny."
She continues smiling as she gently pulls Zebe out from his towel bed and hops him along in the air towards me.
“Aww… how cute…”
I manage to get up from the bed before beginning the search of the perfectly fitting comedy. Not to ignore Zebe or anything… I love it, and I love its dance, but I need to find—AH! Here it is.
“Err… how about The Chalet Girl?”
"Oo, that works perfectly. Get a good laugh AND it can help us beat this heat."
Giggling, she settles in on the bed and fixes up the pillows to give us something to rest and snuggle into, of course leaving Zebe up beside me so he'll be later in between us.
"Actually, should I get anything else? Snacks? Drinks? Foot massage oils?"
“Uhh… the first two, I’d say.”
She lets out a playful groan but smiles and heads off to the snack cupboard to gather up a few things. Gummis, chocolate, chips, chocolate chip cookies, as well as a couple of cans of sparkling juice. She hops back on the bed and lays everything out in front of me and smiles. I pop the movie into the disk drive installed inside my laptop, and away we go.
See, this is the kind of person who can do it all. She looks great, she sounds great, she’s willing to do anything for someone like me, and most of all, she cares for me like I’m her world… nay, her universe. I love you, Claire Daniels.
