OOC: So as I’m writing this I have no idea what to do for this RP, and only have less than 2 hours left to write something… I did have an idea, but I didn’t leave myself enough time to execute it properly and to do the story point justice.
I’d just like to apologise to Zahara for not putting up a proper fight worthy of contending with your great RP, and I’d like to also apologise to everyone that has to read whatever this RP turns into…
I know as a Champion I shouldn’t be letting this happen, and I promise it won’t again. Sorry
Ace listened to the ringing tone as it played through the phone pressed against his ear as he awaited an answer. He never liked waiting for an answer on a phone call, some things he could be patient with, but phone calls were not one of those things. Thankfully, this one did not take long.
“Hi Max, it’s Ace. I have an idea.”
“Yeah what is it?”
“We’re going to Vegas.” Ace said with a grin that Max couldn’t see on the other end of the phone call.
“I’ll tell you later, gotta go, bye.”
Ace didn’t have to go anywhere, he just wanted to mess with Max a little, leave him wondering what is going on. He hung up the call and slid his phone into his pocket.
September 10th, 2016
Las Vegas, Nevada
Ace stood outside the hotel, waiting Max’s arrival. Not long later, in fact, on time to the exact minute, Max’s taxi turned up and he stepped out, dragging a suitcase along the floor.
“Hey Max, how was the journey?” Ace asked,
“Not bad, can’t complain really. What are we doing?”
“Well you’re going to take your bags up to your room, then we’re going to see a show.”
LATER THAT EVENING
Ace and Max walk towards the building hosting the show, Max still none the wiser to what he was going to even see.
“Seriously Ace what have you brought me t- oh…” Max said, then stopped suddenly as he spotted the giant poster advertising Zahara Matisse’s magic show. “Oh yeah… I knew that.”
Ace sits in a room, the floor is covered in playing cards and only a few lights scattered around the place bring pinches of light.
“See, a trend I’m noticing is that people constantly think I’m underestimating them. They always seem to think I’m not considering them threats. But they forget that I’m not dumb, they forget that me acting like I’m not considering them a threat is all part of how I play the game. It’s how I win. I get people angry, and then they make mistakes, I capitalise, and I win. Just look at Katie Moicelle. She got angry at me, for the things I had said and done, and then she ended up making a mistake and here I am still Zero Gravity Champion.”
“And it seems my next opponent, Zahara Matisse has decided she wants to try and change the fact I’m still champion. Which means she’ll have to get in line, because there are a lot of people have also said they want to do the same. And three of those people I’ve already defeated.”
“And Zahara, don’t think I haven’t seen your snide remarks about my girlfriend on twitter. Those same kind of remarks you’d shun me for saying if I were to make them about yours. Don’t think I won’t let those words go unpunished.”
“People like to talk about me and Bianca, every time I mention her it seems someone is attacking us for being together. I put it down to jealousy. I put it down to people wanting what we have. Because there’s a whole lot of things we have they can be jealous of. My title, our looks, our money… The fact alone that I’m with Bianca and no one else is is enough to send some people’s blood boiling.”
“But they can’t have any of it. They can’t take my title, and neither can you Zahara. Because you won’t be able to beat me when my title isn’t on the line, so why would they give you shot when it is?”
“Putting things simply, I’m not going to lose at Breakthrough 51. And it will just be another match in my very very long run as Zero Gravity Champion, running on the path to my legacy.”
