The grass is a tint of yellow from the relentless summer that has ravaged the area over the past few months. A small wind blows over the field as the steel chain length fence incompaces even more rust...forbidden woods and darker memories that further go down that might be better left unexplored for the normal mind. But standing next to the yellow keep out sign with his back slouched to the fence is the menacing presence of Seth Iser and with his arms crossed...he clearly has quite a few things he has to say.
Seth Iser: Katie Morcielle...JMC. Both of you...don’t talk. Don’t tweet. Nothing. Just listen. Listen to every word I have to say. Even you Cali-Kate if you let any of this sink in. Listen.
Iser might have the sunglasses on to hide his eyes but you can just tell with how he has his arms crossed he’s stern, serious, and even a little angry. The gold chain shines through in his otherwise black and white suit on this hot day as his black hair that’s sticking straight up sways in the wind.
Seth Iser: I take it many people are a little agitated...a little upset...even a little angry at one action I took last week. More so than the people who boo me for free speech. No, they were a little upset when I revealed that I am indeed an Orphan. But I didn’t intervene in that tag match because I’m an orphan. The extent of it...as to why I did what I did is simple...it goes mostly on to you James.
Iser taps his fingers on his bicep while they’re crossed...his disgust for the situation apparent and he’s just unable to mask what he’s truly feeling.
Seth Iser: There are people who just look at someone and for lack of a better term in this case...they respect someone because either they’re a man...they were a man or they’re about to become a man. And for years James as I studied your track record...you’re a man. You had your success...and quite frankly whether you’d admit it or not being second best in anything in anyway pisses you off just as much as someone telling me I’m second best to Matt Slater.
Iser literally twitches in anguish at uttering Slater’s name...still a very obvious sore spot that he won’t get over anytime soon.
Seth Iser: But for a man who loves to punish lawbreakers...you didn’t like it when you and your team got a taste of your own medicine because as far as I’m concerned...you both took a shortcut in this sport. The kind of shortcut you James...have spent your entire career when you haven’t been winning championships fighting to correct...or in your words...Punish. Yes...you swooped in and took a title match from your own daughter and Cali-Kate was selfish enough to go along with it. You two could’ve waited until she got healthy and taken your earned title opportunity but no...ego and greed got the best of you both. You can say you were filling in and you can say you were just doing your job when asked but I can smell when people are lying a mile away. You took that opportunity from your own daughter. You took that shortcut looking to relive one more chance for glory at your age. And I had to show my own daughter...that wicked dads like you don’t get the glory they want to chase.
Iser shakes his head in one part of disappointment and one part of disgust.
Seth Iser: Now both of you want to punch my face in when it’s done to you like a pair of cowards that you are. But I shouldn’t be surprised. When a person’s pride and ego get stepped on they’ll cut their nose to save their face. They think with emotion...they don’t think...logically. And there’s some threats and insults sent in my direction by a bunch of sheeple that they’ve surrounded themselves with. That’s fine. Just I’m fairly easy to find in that ring. And when you try to break my nose and live up to any gory threat you want to make...you’ll find out how wrong you are when they stuff you in the gurney and then send your wrestling career out to the morgue because that is what happens when you lose control of your emotions in front of a God.
Iser ends up uncrossing his arms and just stares a hole down through the camera before he peels off the sunglasses and the glacier look from his eyes tell the whole story even if behind the glaciers...there is a fire there.
Seth Iser: But don’t think I’ve forgotten about you Katie. Long reigning Zero Gravity champion...but the moment you let that success get straight to your head you lose it and you’ve not been right. Either that or you’re showing what goes on behind that mask of yours in who you really are. You’re the person who says point blank the title belt means everything when YOU held it and yet when someone else holds it...the same person that kicked your ass not once but twice for that belt you mope and offhandedly say it doesn’t mean what it should. You disparaged it in an effort to try to disparage the man who beat you because that belt corrupted you. Success corrupted you. It inflated your ego and sense of self worth to astronomical proportions.
Iser just shakes his head and it’s getting a little harder for him to control his emotions at this point. The anger is swelling as he balls up his fist.
Seth Iser: And then when someone pays money for their time to go out there and say what needs to be said...you have the audacity and disrespect to go out there and interrupt everything I had to say. The only reason I didn’t drop you on your head and give you the fate you deserve for that alone isn’t because of anything YOU have done since your actions have thrown all that away. I did it because PJ has something you don’t. Respect. Respect for this business...and respect for me. And I didn’t want to screw him out of a chance to get paid all because a young punk like you has absolutely no respect for the code of our industry.
Iser just tilts his head to the side and you hear the crack before he approaches the camera...almost as if something has snapped because now he’s figuratively breathing fire.
Seth Iser: But I guess I shouldn’t expect better from someone who was trained into the sport by another woman who has done nothing but cry and bitch and mope and cut herself on national television and disgrace the name of professional wrestling. Instead of being an upfront challenger she’s bitching about how she feels she should be entitled to a title shot and given one after winning one match. Just like you Katie felt entitled to have endless shots at Ace because that power of gold corrupted you. Newsflash...this isn’t the participation olympics. This is PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING! And I’m SICK of people who don’t understand the PROFESSIONAL aspect of PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING!
Iser’s black hair is flying everywhere as he’s gone into a rage and pacing back and forth a little bit before he takes a deep breath and attempts to calm down.
Seth Iser: I’m sick...of people not looking at us as the phenomenal athletes we are and instead wondering who is dating who or what provocative photo we’ll have or try to make friends with everyone. If you’re in this sport to make friends...get out. This isn’t the place for you...and quite frankly I’m flat out sick of people being handed prestigious things without doing a damn thing to earn them where everyone just for stepping in gets an entitlement medal. And I’m sick of people like Katie, Stacy, JMC...just taking a giant piss on our values with shortcuts, whining, crying, or flat out just making a disgrace to the sport. Because this is not the sport I teach MY students to uphold with honor.
Iser then points to the sign that says keep out and chuckles to himself almost at this point before he shakes his head...the anger that’s boiling apparent.
Seth Iser: I’m fixing to peel back what’s behind the gate of my mind and start giving out beatings to everyone who doesn’t respect our sport or those that came before them. And it doesn’t matter how many ass kickings I’ll give...I’ll either beat the respect into you brats or run you out of the sport when you realize it’s too tough for you mentally and you can join the many people who have the physical talent...but aren’t tough enough for our sport.
Iser just seems to have full control at this point as he cracks his own knuckle and that glare is more ice than fire now after he let out one of the things that’s been obviously bothering him.
Seth Iser: It starts with you Katie. You’ll find that your physical ability is no match for the overall presence that is Seth Iser. You want to know why they called me The Deity of Destruction? It’s not just my intellect...or what I’ve been able to do. The ice that runs through my veins helps fuel a criminal mind...and I’ll give you a beating so bad in that ring you will wish you were a black person talking to a cop when I’m done with you.
Iser finally takes a couple of steps forward and the stare screams murderous intent as he crosses his arms back again.
Seth Iser: I’ll beat it into you or beat you out of the sport. Doesn’t matter. And I’ll do it to many other people because soft words aren’t cutting it to get the message across. And then when they realize I’ve kicked the ass of so many of their wrestlers...they’ll reward me with a championship opportunity that I EARNED. And I’ll become a champion for the first time in years...that WILL happen.
Iser then lets out a chuckle in an evil thought as he actually puts half of a smile on his face. A serene calm has overpowered what was a hot blooded and emotional outburst earlier.
Seth Iser: It won’t be about who's dating who...or the bulls(bleep) that seems to create the toxic atmosphere that they associate with wrestling today. No. It’s going to again be about who the better wrestler is because I didn’t get into this sport to make friends. I came into it to make money and be great. And when the great Seth Iser wins a championship it will finally be about what it should be…
Iser pauses as the menacing demeanor is in full force. It’d make a normal man sweat the intimidation he’s putting forth.
Seth Iser: They’ll remember wrestling as being a great sport...and me as one of the greatest in the world. Not JMC. Not Matt f(bleep)ing Slater. Me. Seth Iser...one of the greatest that’s ever lived. One of the greatest champions. A great man, too. And as the benevolent ruler among the mortals that he was...he stomps out the wicked influence...that is the bulls(bleep) that took hold and made this sport...the greatest in the world.
Iser then tilts his head to the side...and narrows his eyes.
Seth Iser: That’s the legacy you’re facing Katie and the history will be remembered a certain way in the end. They won’t remember you for your physical talent. Or your title run after I kick your ass. They’ll remember you as an immature brat who is the only type of woman who is only good for cooking. Nothing more. Nothing less. And it’s a shame...because you did this all to yourself.
With those last parting words Iser puts his hand over the camera to block out the view and everything ends up going completely black as the startled camera man moves backwards.
