Another chapter in my wrestling life has come to an end. To say I’m emotional about the whole thing is an understatement. For over two years, I called this place my home, and even though I’ve been wrestling professionally since 2009, I honestly believe that it was here in VoW where I truly began my career.
It’s certainly been a rollercoaster of a ride here. I started out as a history maker, becoming the first ever female champion of any kind, to becoming the first ever two-time champion of any kind. And then things started to spiral down as I allowed my personal life to affect my in-ring work.
But then things once again started to look up for me; both in my personal life and professional life. And after managing to defeat a great friend of mine in her retirement match, Emevlas Stastias followed by a huge victory over the most dominant champion the company has ever had, Casanova English, I ended up having my final ever VoW match against Emma Carlisle for the World Visionary Championship.
I may have lost that match, but the journey to that moment proved to myself and everyone else that I have what it takes to win the big one some day.
The camera flickers to life as I fumble with the handheld camcorder, fixing it onto the tripod that I set up earlier ready to make this final address to the VoW faithful. I still can’t believe that VoW has closed its doors, but unfortunately, it’s just one of those things that happens. Nothing lasts forever.
Dressed in a pair of black sneakers, a pair of dark blue denim jeans, a black VoW T-shirt, the very first shirt I got here in VoW, and a black VoW cap, I sit down on the couch and just sit there in silence for a moment, thinking.
“I was hoping to do this in the middle of the ring, in front of all you great fans…but of course, things change and so now, I’m having to give this address from my new home here in Orlando.”
Leaning forward, I grab my electronic cigarette off the table and take a few puffs from it before setting it back down.
“There are a lot of people I wish to thank, and even though he hasn’t been part of the company for a long time now, the first person I want to thank is Stefan Frei. Thank you for signing me to VoW and giving me a place to call home. It was an honor working for such a legend of the business.”
I cross my right leg over my left, resting my hands on my lap whilst maintaining eye contact with the camera.
“I want to thank Sky Sangue and Ryan Omega for giving me the opportunities that were awarded to me. It was an honor to represent VoW as its Xcel Champion on two separate occasions.”
The memories of my huge title victories come flooding back to me as a smile crosses my face.
“I would also like to thank everyone who I’ve worked with during my time working for this great company, and yes, that even includes Winter Pine. Whether we were working together or against each other, whether you like me or hate me, I love this job and whenever I’m in the ring, no matter who I’m against, I love it.”
I clasp my hands together and lean forward slightly.
“I want to thank all of my amazing friends for supporting me through everything. Katie, Claire, Zoey, Kat, Jami, Tyler, Reya, Paxar etcetera. You’re all awesome and had it not been for all of you guys, I wouldn’t be in the position I’m in right now so thank you and I love you with all of my heart.”
Picking up a glass of water off the table, I take a sip of it to cleanse my pallet before continuing.
“I want to thank Emma Carlisle in particular for giving me one Hell of a final match in VoW. You are most definitely a deserving champion and it was truly an honor to face you for that championship. If we ever have the opportunity to face one another again in the future, I would love to do so.”
I take another sip of water and then place it back onto the table.
“Of course, I want to thank the love of my life, my amazing girlfriend, my sweet chinchilla, Jennifer, for always supporting and believing in me. For giving me a shoulder to cry on during the bad times and celebrating with me during the good times. I love you more and more each day and I’m so thankful and lucky to have you in my life.”
Picking up my e-cig again, I take a few more puffs from it.
“And last but certainly not least…I of course want to thank my fans. Thank you all for supporting me since the beginning. Thank you for always sticking by me through everything. Thank you for cheering my name and chanting that I deserve it whenever I talked about going after the World Visionary Championship. Thank you for believing in me.”
I feel the tears beginning to form in the corners of my eyes, so I decide it’s a good time to wrap things up now.
“Thank you all for making my VoW journey one of the best journeys I’ve ever had. This isn’t the end of Stacy Jones by a long shot. But for the final time for VoW, goodbye…and thank you.”
And with that, I stand to my feet and head over to the camera and end the recording, causing the video to go to static.
It is indeed the end of an era. But this is just the beginning for Stacy Jones. My VoW journey has come to an end. I will never forget my time here. VoW will forever hold a place in my heart till the day I die.
But it’s now time for my next chapter. And I will make sure that in this one, I will finally achieve that one goal that has always eluded me…
…becoming a World Champion!
