I'm really liking all the input I have seen thus far. Basically, the purpose of this poll and thread is to gauge every one's opinion and see where they stand on the possibility of us going one route instead of another. We decided to make this with the full understanding that option 2 would create more work for our member base, but by the same token... can we really say communication is extra work when we're a fed that prides ourselves on just that; communication? It doesn't take but a couple minutes to inform us that you'd like to have a match. But again..As Omega said, this is only a can we've kicked around and nothing is set in stone. We're just trying to find a way where our member base and our staff both win in some fashion.
Edit - Also... I am in favor of the suggestion to have 'dark matches'. A quick summary of the matches that took place prior to the heart of the show. That would not only cut back on the time it takes to write the results, but it would also help alleviate some of the pressure our match writers have right now. (Some of us write more than one match every week, including segments). I'll speak with the rest of my team and we'll figure something out in regards to that as well.

Great input from everyone here! Communimacation! WOOO! As for me well I'm not opposed to the idea, I'd just much prefer something longer than 24 hours for it to be up due to timezones. As for the dark match concepts, I'm all for that if it lessens the load on match writing. I personally only write one match a week at best but I know people like Steve, Vanessa and I believe sometimes Omega write 2 matches often for the shows and it puts a lot of pressure on them... Thumbs up to dark matches, Iono to the booking thread and high five for everything else *shrugs before sitting in corner and observing

Hm. I think, if we have enough votes for the idea (which it looks like the overwhelming majority is interested), we could possibly incorporate the idea that you'd say on the very first sign up thread (week after this ppv prolly) that you'd like to be booked every week unless you otherwise say so... that way, those who want to go week by week get their chance to decide what weeks they wanna be booked, and those who don't mind being booked every week (unless they say otherwise) can just post once and then not worry ab it afterward. Also, the first thread we have of this we'll be not only sending out a fed-wide message, but putting it in chats and the shoutbox as well (probably a couple days in advance)... just to make sure everyone knows it's up...

I'm with PKA On this although it seems the majority rules. I think there should be more of a "Sign up if you DON'T want to be booked" thread. My two cents - I think there should be two threads...one for people who want to decide to be booked on a week by week basis, and another thread for those who want to be booked indefinitely. That way those of us who like to be booked don't have to be signing up every week.

That way those of us who like to be booked don't have to be signing up every week. We could simplify it by doing the following... Having it all in one thread. People who want to be booked for just that particular week sign up for just that week. People who want to be booked indefinitely sign up and state clearly that they want to be booked indefinitely. The person keeping track of this keeps a list of the two in the first post of the thread, separating them for clarity. The following week, take the list of those booked indefinitely as a start and then those signing up for just that week will need to sign up again or state they want to be booked indefinitely. Those booked indefinitely that need the week off should state so in that thread. Also I think anyone new that signs up should be automatically booked regardless but informed of this system.

Having a sign-up sheet will not help you one bit if everyone still signs up.
I feel like I'm fighting an uphill battle, but its one I'm passionate about.
I don't want to book myself on a show. That's the booker's job. There are how many staff members here who could help sort all of that out?
Stop wasting / giving away matches just to get everyone on the card.
This isn't rocket science. VOW is at an advantage with such a large roster (20+, right?) and a weekly show - so why feel the need to give everyone a match every single week? Save yourself time and energy by having less matches to write. And also you'll be making things better in the long run for feuds/angles and for the handlers, because there's always something special about two people facing off for the first time. But if they've already faced off numerous times in the past because you wanted to get everyone on the card, then what's the point? Like I said, you've got a large roster, so why not mix and match every now and then? I've faced Brett Carson 3 times. I'm about to face Reya Serra a 2nd time. I've had 8 matches.
I think Dark Matches should be saved mostly for debuts and people who no-showed the previous week. Cause if you still insist on booking everyone, except many in pre-show dark matches, you'll still run into the problem where everyone will had faced everyone in no time.

Adding to what PKA is saying...if someone still wants to be on the show and they don't have a match...have them write a show segment in place of a rp for that week. That way fueds can continue without having to have a match.

Just cause someone isn't booked for a show doesn't mean they can't still write a segment for the show, or even a developmental roleplay even. Its not like someone's hands are tied from writing at all just because they weren't booked. Edit - Even more so - maybe if they aren't booked, they'll be able to find the time to write a match and help out if needed? Or maybe they will be able to put their focus on an angle/story going on with their wrestler.

It was supposed to be a reply to Omega's "feeling like a grown-up", but my connection crapped out on me so I wound up late to post and sounding like I was just rambling.

I'm just amused that this thread generated so much activity over the idea of "forcing" people to come on the boards once a week and type "yes" or "no" on a thread. Then again, I often find amusement in strange things...

I believe we should have a thread for both. I mean honestly on the receiving end of both no shows (not saying these wasn't valid excuses in this fed anyway) and on the receiving end of late results I feel as though we should have a spot for both. Match writers and segment writers should be held to the same standard as rpers. If people don't show up to write matches by a deadline just like rpers then they are removed from being able to do so. Maybe people who write five matches in a row gives there character a little bit of boost in the form of a title shot, or a high profile match. This way people who may be rping each week and not necessarily winning, but are still contributing to the fed are able to be appreciated. I would like it if we had a monthly sign up. Where you pick the weeks in which you want to be booked, or take it light and write a seg, or even take the week off.
Example.
January
Week 1- Match Week 2- Match Week 3- Off Week 4- Segment
In case of emergency you can let the staff know at the beginning of the week. I dunno. I am really tired. Good night.
