~Prologue~
They say everything is supposed to
change when you hold something like this in your hands. I don't see
it though. I feel the same. I have always felt the same, I was born a
king. I was born a king into slavery and it just took the right
alignment of the stars for me to understand and accept my human
nature. You can say what you want about my methods, but the truth is
I am effective. Did I set out to end the career of Vanessa? No,
things just kind of happened that way. Did you see how she controlled
it though? How she locked in that submission and was able to let go,
able to take full control of a part of herself that plagued her. I
turned that into a gift. I made her come to grips with reality, and
she couldn't handle it. I'm not the enemy, the enemy is time. It is
limited. Your goal is to stay on top as long as you can, keep the
eyes watching you. If I do, then maybe I can help these broken minds
discover if they have what it takes. If they have what it takes to
follow me as I continue this war on VOW management, on the ones who
oppress your little mind.
I must say whomever is in charge of VOW
marketing had their head on straight when they decided to hold off on
crowing a champion until the company was ten months in. Now VOW has
created a buzz, now The Orphanage has been stormed with phone calls
and visits from news outlets, sports, talk show representatives they
all want to hear from the first Visionaries World Champion. I'm not
that guy though. I'm not that champion that is going to pad their
pockets full of cash. No, here on live stream with Bryan Combs I can
put all the profit into my cause. I can build up The Orphanage to
their level. I can compete with them in a whole new way. I can market
myself. I can make them listen. I have access to the same devices
they use for their mind control.
I made this company. I am ringing in a
new era here. I am using VOW as my platform to speak of The
Revolution. I gave Vanessa the perfect ending to her career, and I am
giving Bryan Combs the first interview with the World Visionaries
Champion, the winner of the first and only 30/20 Vision match, a man
that ended the career of Vanessa. . . a legend in this business.
People don't have to like you to know you are important, to know that
your ideas are valid. Bryan didn't like me, he didn't want to be my
friend, but all these things I have done for him. He offers me
loyalty and respect. Those things aren't friendship, but in most
cases they are much more valuable.
I light the end of my cigarette pulling
the smoke back past my swollen lips.
The Orphanage Presents
A Bryan Combs Exclusive
Interview with a Messiah
The camera opens with a zoomed in shot
of Casanova English's badly bruised face, his left eye is especially
damaged. English was the victor, but you wouldn't guess it by the
awkward colored aggressive bruising that keeps him from competing at
the next VOW Breakthrough. English stares there wounded, stone faced
looking into the camera before finally cracking a smile. The camera
pans out slowly as Bryan Combs begins to speak his glowing red hair
coming in to frame to contrast the blueness of Casanova’s flesh. A
sole cigarette burns between Casanova's fingers, siting on top of the
newly acquired Visionaries World Championship. A light haze begins to
fill the room.
Combs: Welcome to a Bryan Combs
exclusive. Thank you joining us via live stream from The Orphanage's
website, and also those listening live through podcast. Today I will
offer you the very first interview with Visionaries World Champion
Casanova English after winning that championship from wrestling
veteran. . . well someone some people would even call a legend
Vanessa at VOW Pay Per View Nothing Else Matters. Thank you for
joining me Mr. English, congratulations on your big win.
English: Well it is good to be here.
English taps his fingers on the VOW
Championship lightly careful not to let the ash of his cigarette fall
onto it. English raises the cigarette to his swollen lips and takes a
haul while Bryan asks his first question.
Combs: Some people are surprised to see
you holding that strap today. I mean the wrestling community has
established that you are a very talented wrestler for only being in
the industry for 2 years, but there has been various times you choked
in big match situations, no offense. The first federation you where
in IPW you won the US Championship, but dropped it in an epic match
to Titan. That was defiantly your first big match against an
established competitor. You went on to get two shots at the IPW World
Championship before the company folded and you still didn't get the
job done. I know none of those matches where in singles competition.
One triple threat and the other a federation wide battle royal, but
none the less. Most recently here in VOW you had the opportunity way
back at VOW's first PPV. You headlined it with a shot at the VOW Xcel
Championship. You wrestled PKA and lost, failing to establish
yourself as undoubtedly this companies most dominate competitor early
on. Long story short what I am trying to ask you is. . . How was the
pressure? What was it like being out there with a woman you never
pinned to the mat prior? It was the biggest match of your career, and
probably the best this company has seen to date.
English seems a little taken a back at
Combs knowledge, but he hand selected him. He hand selected him to
challenge English. To show that he would not hide from the ideals of
others. He would stand and fight them. English nods at Bryan and
responds.
English: Well it was intense. It was
frustrating, but at the same time it was beautiful. The intensity we
brought out in one another was unimaginable. I couldn't believe how
much it took to put V away and she truly showed me what it takes to
be a champion. The other times I had an opportunity to become the
figurehead of a company I don't think I was ready. The truth is VOW
is my company. VOW is the place where I really came into my own. Over
the ten months I have spent here I have battled my toughest
competition, and I knew when I walked through those doors and said to
Darius Yates “Shit is going to change here.” That I was going to
take make VOW into my own person Vision. That is how the match went.
. . now you want the brutal honesty? I knew I had that match won
long, long before Nothing Else Matters. I knew I had the mental game
won a long time ago. I exploited the only thing that Vanessa could
use to beat me and that was The Queen. I took V to another level at
the PPV, just like I did to Star. I took her to her limit, I made her
the best version of herself. She used The Queen's aggression without
giving her control. Then I beat her, I beat the best version of
herself she could produce and she couldn't handle it. That is why I
am the champion right now. Pressure, “big match” situations they
are no longer an issue for me. They became the standard when I
started piling up bodies like Matt Slater, Bobby Backdroor, and
Rayne-Draven Omega like common trash. Now they will have to be the
standard now that I hold this championship. Tell me Bryan does it
look like that bothers me what so ever?
Casanova smiles that reptilian sly
grin, and takes another suck off his cancer stick.
Combs: Well that is the other thing.
Now there is a huge target on your back.
English lets out a puff of smoke and
begins to laugh.
English: So nothing has changed. If you
think for a second there hasn't been a target on my back you're
delusional. I mean you hear that little bitch Ziu Zhong spout off at
the mouth about me in hopes of getting his day in the fucking sun.
You have people getting back into wrestling just in hopes of taking
me out like Rayne-Draven Omega. I have had a painted freak who was a
wall of muscle and held the belief he was from another planet come
after me. . . I think I am used to the cross hairs being aimed at me
Mr. Combs. I welcome it. That is exactly why I have surrounded myself
with the amazing set of individuals that compile The Orphanage. Sir
William Cambridge helped us display that at the PPV when we destroyed
Seifer Black. Brett Carson is the future of this industry, he is
brash, arrogant, and some people could see that as negative. I don'!
The way he backs it up in that ring is unbelievable, the ability for
us all to learn from each other is baffling. Then there is Cera, I
think that she speaks for herself. She is one of the most dominate
woman in the sport. Some would call her The Baddest Bitch.
Combs: Well that brings me to another
question. Are you not worried that these talented individuals are
going to want to take that spotlight from you eventually?
English: Our vision goes much much
deeper than mere championships Bryan. Truthfully it doesn't matter
who holds this championship as long as it is a member of The
Orphanage. It represents power and to show that we are in control and
not the corporate drones. I'm not scared of Brett, Cambridge, or Cera
turning on me because their minds are evolved. They recognize we are
in a war, and they know that this material championship is merely a
political ploy to depict power.
Combs: Sounds to me like you just want
your followers to think like that so they don't take that away from
you. I can see it in your eyes English that championship means a
whole lot more to you than you are letting on.
English cracks a smile to Combs quick
wit and leans in a bit closer almost taking a grip of his newly
acquired gold.
English: You are free to believe
whatever you want Mr. Combs.
Combs: So you beat Vanessa for the
Visionaries World Championship, who do you think is next in line for
a shot at that championship?
English: Well that is hard to say isn’t
it. I pretty much cleaned house on my way to the VOW Championship. I
would love to step in that ring with Ryan Omega with this belt on the
line, but the odds of that ever happening are very slim. Ziu Zhong
has proved to be a valiant opponent, but if the Ziu Fly comes to me,
he might get his wings snipped. Maybe, he is better off staying down
in that pond of a division that is the Zero Gravity Division so he
can continue to “look impressive.” With me holding this
championship that would be his best bet. Honestly I don't care who
Ryan Omega and Frei send down that ramp, I'll send them back up it on
a stretcher.
Combs: Well maybe you don't have a
contender right now, but the influx of talent that has flooded VOW
recently is unbelievable. You have Yeshua, Church, Val. . . it seems
like the race for your championship could be very interesting in a
couple of months time.
English: Yeah it's cute. It's cute when
there are guys blast in a federation with fire in their belly, but
I’ll be honest yet again Combs, by the time we have a next
interview you won't remember half those guys names. It will just be
like PKA, and Vanessa. They will have all the fire power in the
world, then it comes to me. You put me in front of them, and I am
like a question they just can't seem to answer correctly. They will
be put in the ring with me, and after I cut through them like they
are butter, Then they will leave, go out soul searching. They will
get “burnt out” and me, I'll still be here holding this torch
watching it burn.
Combs: Speaking of Patrick Kay Anthony
the first ever VOW Xcel Champion. A man that beat you I might add for
that Xcel Championship. You recently signed up to take part in the
Total J Cup Tournament with WARPED Wrestling. It is a bold move
considering your current facial injuries, and the fact that you will
be here in VOW as the World Champion. Why did you join that
tournament? Is it really to spread the message of The Orphanage even
further? Or do you seek revenge on PKA who is a part owner in WARPED?
English smirks at the question taking a
long draw from the end of his coffin nail. English squints his eyes
and then tilts his swollen face down looking at the World Visionaries
Championship. When he lifts his head back up there is a wide grin as
smoke leaves his mouth.
English: It is the same reason I was in
Battlemania to help spread the message to all these drones. To help
enlighten the poor little lost souls of this world. Besides I moved
on to bigger thing than the Xcel Championship didn't I? To tell you
the truth. . . yes. Yes it has something to do with PKA's involvement
in WARPED.
English taps the ash off his cigarette
pausing for a moment seemingly to for a moment formulate exactly what
he wants to say.
English: See Vanessa beat me and I was
able to pull all the way through and avenge that loss. Ziu Zhong beat
me and I was able to beat him a few weeks ago in a triple threat
match, but I still beat him. Those are the only two real opponents I
have had to avenge losses from. PKA I didn't get the opportunity to
avenge that loss, and to be honest it was earlier in my career here
and I think he got lucky. It's not about the Xcel Championship. . .
it's something you people who haven't been in that ring just wouldn't
understand. See when you think about my whole philosophy with Vanessa
and Rayne I was cleaning out the dinosaurs that have a stranglehold
on this industry who can't get out of the way for fresher faces. PKA
was supposed to be my first example, he was supposed to be the first
real member of that veteran circle I wanted to put down. I slipped
up, and I was never given the opportunity to correct my loss. Hell,
VOW even over looked giving me another shot when PKA left with
injury. So yeah, it is slightly personal Combs. I want to walk into
WARPED in this historic Total J Cup Tournament and I want to beat
members on his roster. I want to beat members of other rosters. I
want to beat people from VOW. I want to raise that Total Fucking J
Cup over my head. Not because it matters at all to me, but I know it
matters to him. I know it matters to the wrestling world. If I hoist
that cup over my head, at the very least PKA will have no other
choice but to respect me. He will have no other choice but to realize
I am the present of this fucking industry. Then maybe I will feel
less sick about that lucky win Patrick got over me at my first VOW
PPV.
Combs: Well that wasn't what I expected
to here, but it is out there now. You still have a slight vendetta
with PKA. Do you think that you will be recovered enough from your
facial injuries to take part in the next edition of Breakthrough?
English: People can say what they want
about me, but it is evident that I love competition. I will be at the
next show. I am a fighting champion Bryan I don't know what I have
done to make you people think otherwise. I'll be there and I'll be
ready to face whoever I have to make an example of. Right now I hold
all the cards. It's smooth sailing from here on out. I have made
myself bulletproof with the people I have placed around myself with
The Orphanage. Stacy Jones claims that this week she is going to have
a surprise for us. Not if Cera gets to her first. See little Stacy
Jones thinks she is bigger than she is, she needs to be taken down a
peg. You want to attack Cera the way you did? Sure it was cute, but
hunny it is going to get you killed. It's not hard to see how
dominate we are as a group. You need to wake up little girl. This
isn't OZ, but I will have no problem sending you the fuck home. . .
just like I did to V. Bryan. . .
English slams his cigarette into the
counter putting it out. The crunched cigarette stands vertical as
English pulls the VOW Championship up to his shoulder.
English: You have entered a new world.
You aren't going to see anyone take the power from The Orphanage any
time soon. Your third eye is about to be open exposing our vision.
You are going to see the truth. You might not like that. . . I hear
that every arena I go. How much you people hate me, and The
Orphanage. You hate the truth. You would rather accept false
innocence, fabricated facts, and march blindly. The truth terrifies
you, the truth tells you that you are living a lie. That in turn
tells you that your a sinner. The truth tells you that you are no
better than bacteria, that all this around us is an illusion. It
scares you people to come to the realization of just. . . how. .
.fucking. . . stupid you are.
English grins tapping his championship
that rests on his shoulder
English: Don't worry. I'll be here.
Helping to remind you. I am The Modern Day Messiah.
English stares cold at the camera much
like how the interview began. English doesn't even give Bryan Combs
the opportunity to sign off as the feed cuts to The Orphanage logo.
~Epilogue~
Bryan looks at me clapping
sarcastically as if to say “amazing interview”. People were
starting to know my name. People beyond the wrestling industry are
starting to tune in to see what I am saying. Slowly I am making this
sport relevant again. I make my way to the exit of the studio quickly
shutting the door behind me. I walk down a long hallway before
reaching my office. Letting out a sigh I pull the whiskey from the
cabinet. I plop the VOW Championship on my desk falling into my
chair. My head was throbbing now, reminding me of the war I had just
been through. The hell I had to put my body through for ten months
before I could call myself “World Visionaries Champion”. Too lazy
to get rocks I will drink the whiskey neat tonight. I pour a moderate
amount into the glass and toss it back like an old rummy.
That match could of ended me as easily
as it ended V. I realize that. I realize the road I have ahead of me,
and I know I haven't made it easy on myself. Vanessa beat my face so
bad that any further would of resulted in long term damage, not to
mention my skull knocking around with every fist that collided. Isn't
it too early to be pondering those questions? I'd do it all again,
and I will do it all again. I love the pain, it reminds me I am
alive. Reminds me that there is something deeper to this world then
the bullshit in front of us. Everyone feels pain. That is the
beautiful thing about it. It unites us. I'll do what it takes to keep
the power in my hands. I'll hold this crown no matter how heavy my
head gets. If you want this belt you're going to have to decapitate
me. You're going to have to rip my fucking head off.
. . .And I just took care of the only
one capable of that.
It's my throne now.
