Main Event
Kelsey Spencer vs Elskerinne
Axel Reid: Well, after that, it just adds to what has certainly been an interesting night here in Flint thus far.
Ruby Parvati: News coverage has talked about the water here for months, but some things happened tonight that will be talked about for much longer!
Axel Reid: I'm sure our fans won't forget what happened here so easily, and neither will we. But now it is Main Event time, and we can finally get this thing underway without anymore interruptions.
Ruby Parvati: You hope.
"Because I'm Awesome" by the Dollyrats starts to play, causing the crowd to cheer. Kelsey bursts out from behind the curtain, brimming with energy despite what happened to her earlier in the night. She's all smiles as she makes her way down the ramp with a spring in her step, sometimes slapping the outstretched hands of young fans as she passes. She enters the ring by scaling the turnbuckle on the outside and jumping over the top rope, throwing up the sign of the horns with confidence.
Jerry Heisenberg: The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and it is your MAIN EVENT of the evening! Introducing first, hailing from The Gold Coast, she weighed in tonight at 124lbs... KELSEY SPENCER!!!
Axel Reid: This woman was so delighted to know she was going to be in the Main Event of this show, Ruby. She has this smile that just warms people's hearts all over the globe.
Ruby Parvati: It's disgusting. She should be focusing on herself instead of these people, but she turned out to be a traitor. Then Rebecca Saint realized Kelsey was useless and rightfully kicked her out of Saint City.
Axel Reid: Which I should bring up, because apparently Kelsey does have bad bruising on her scalp, but she's not showing any signs of discomfort. She wants to compete, gut it out and prove to these people why she can strive to be great on her own, not needing Rebecca Saint at all.
Ruby Parvati: Sooner or later she'll crawl back to Ms Saint. They always...
YAH HAHAHAHA HA HAHAHAHAHA HA!!!
Ruby Parvati: DOOOOO!
Ruby screams her last word in surprise as the sound of hysterical laughter fills the arena, startling everyone in attendance, as suddenly "Emperor's New Clothes" by PANIC! At The Disco hits the speakers! The fans aren't sure whether to cheer or boo as three shadows appear at the entrance. The first verse makes its grand appearance and with the help of a blue-tinted spotlight so do those at the top of the ramp.
FINDERS KEEPERS, LOSERS WEEPERS!
Jerry Heisenberg: And her opponent, currently residing in St. Paul, Minnesota by way of Moca, Puerto Rico, she weighed in tonight at 145lbs..."THE ONE AND ONLY " ELSKERINNE!!!
One figure is an attractive, dark haired woman donning black skinny jeans and an even blacker jacket. She flips her hair out of her face and mouths 'back to life' along with the song, as our view trails to the other woman, smaller and blonder, with a stoic look about her. She puts a finger to her lips when the camera focuses in on her and the song says 'watch me die', as we then slowly trail back over to the center and hear: 'you just might see a ghost tonight!'
The light brightens to reveal between the women... a blonde mannequin! Her make-up is on point, hair styled perfectly, and she dons wrestling gear and ridiculous 'tattoos' of animals, pop culture references, and iconic horror images. Smoke suddenly billows upward around the plastic doll, and it disperses just as quickly to reveal the one and only, Elskerinne! Donning dark blue wrestling garb, her hair is done up in a tight, sloppy Grecian braid, and there is a large crescent-shaped streak of black and purple glitter smeared across the left side of her face. Elskerinne places a finger to the glitter, trailing it down her cheek to the side of her mouth as she gazes out toward the crowd with that signature grin, patiently awaiting the start of the match.
Axel Reid: At Nothing Else Matters, this woman proved herself against Casanova English. She ultimately lost that match, but she never tapped out. She even smiled at English before she faded, showing him she would always fight no matter what.
Ruby Parvati: But it is also proved MY point that she WOULD be snapped back to reality, and she was. English showed he was a better wrestler and a better person overall, and he succeeded.
Axel Reid: A better... person overall? In comparison to Elskerinne? You've got to be joking?
Ruby Parvati: Do I sound like I'm joking?
Axel Reid: You can believe what you want, but Elskerinne is a good person at heart. Both of these women are, and what a match they're sure to part on in just a couple of moments.
Kelsey nods to Elskerinne, motivating herself and her opponent. Elskerinne maintains her smile as the crowd chant both of their names, with Thea clapping along with them and JB... simply standing far away with her arms crossed. Once the referee checks both women, he signals for the bell.
DING DING DING!!!
Both women circle the other, attempting to read what the other could be thinking of doing. Eventually they move forward for a collar-and-elbow tie-up... until Elskerinne embraces Kelsey and hugs her tightly instead! Kelsey keeps her arms up, slightly looking puzzled at the sudden affection by her opponent until all she can do is laugh. Elskerinne squeals as she tightens her arms, squeezing Kelsey with a hug.
Axel Reid: Well, we know all about goodwill and sportsmanship but... this is the most unusual start to a match I've seen in a while.
Ruby Parvati: If this is all she plans to do, what a waste of time this match will be.
Kelsey playfully hugs Elskerinne back, with both women rotating in the ring as they keep their feet moving. Elsky leans back from the hug and smiles wide at Kelsey, keeping her arms around her. That is until Elskerinne rears back and delivers a HEADBUTT, which is followed by a Belly-to-Belly throw!
Axel Reid: That headbutt came out of nowhere! Why on earth would she do that?!
Ruby Parvati: Uh... TO WIN?!
Kelsey feels her forehead before Elskerinne brings the delightful Spencer up, whereby she whips her to the ropes and deals some more damage with a leaping forearm smash! Elskerinne then goes for the early cover...
ONE!
Kelsey kicks out fairly easily, yet still winces as she feels her forehead again.
Axel Reid: Kelsey already got a headache after that microphone shot from Rebecca Saint. Elskerinne could have exacerbated that pain with her own head, a consequence that came from a friendly hug!
Ruby Parvati: One that the freak started, which means it was all part of her plan.
Elskerinne gets Kelsey up again, dishing out some hard chops to her chest, just above the breasts. Kelsey cringes from each one until she deals one back herself, causing Elsky to stagger back. Spencer then takes Elskerinne over with a snap arm drag, then she waits for her opponent to rise before she gets knocked down again by a jumping side kick!
Axel Reid: Now Kelsey has taken control, and she seems to be taking the affects of that headbutt and using it to fuel her energy.
Ruby Parvati: But how long can she last? Valerie Beasley did a good number on her at the PPV, and Ms Saint could have easily broken her apart, but she had the decency and respectability not to.
Axel Reid: Respectability?! Now you're the one who's becoming delusional.
Meanwhile, Spencer flips Elskerinne over with a Northern Lights Suplex, bridging into another cover...
ONE!
Elskerinne also kicks out at one, showing the tenacity of both women in these early stages. "LET'S GO KELSEY!" chants begin to flow throughout the arena as Kelsey keeps on the offensive, bringing Elskerinne up for a rough Russian Leg Sweep. Afterwards, the former associate of Rebecca Saint mounts the nearest corner, not wasting any time as she takes a risk with a Moonsault... that pays off! Kelsey covers Elskerinne again...
ONE!
TWO!
Elskerinne gets her shoulder up!
Axel Reid: Kelsey is not reserving her energy at all, instead using her quickness to keep Elskerinne at bay.
Ruby Parvati: But she still looks rather groggy due to her head injury, which I'm sure that face-painted weirdo will use to her advantage.
After recuperating a small amount, Kelsey brings Elskerinne up a third time, only for her foe to get off a punch to the stomach. The connection is not full, but it still renders Spencer vulnerable. Using what little time she has, Elskerinne scores with a Jawbreaker to Kelsey, increasing her chances of regaining the offence before she takes Kelsey down with a rolling elbow! JB seems pleased with this, yet her expression normalizes as Elskerinne starts to do a dance right before a jumping Fist Drop!
Ruby Parvati: Why is she dancing during a competitive match?
Axel Reid: It's her unique style, which has worked in the past, and it just worked right here.
Elskerinne then runs to the ropes, springboarding off the middle and twisting in midair for a Leg Drop on the downed Kelsey! Then she goes for an opportunistic cover...
ONE!
TWO!
Kelsey forces her shoulders off the canvas to break the count, with Elskerinne smiling at her adversary's courage. Returning to her feet, E takes Spencer by the arm, forces her up and whips her to the buckles. Spencer's neck whiplashes from the force, further adding to her woes, something Elskerinne doesn't seem concerned about as she runs at Kelsey and gets off a Hurracanrana out of the corner! From there, Elskerinne, with a twinkle in her eyes, springs up to her feet, leaps onto the ropes and spins around with a backwards elbow drop onto Kelsey's prone body!
Axel Reid: Now Elskerinne is the one failing to reserve HER energy. This match has been fast-paced and equal since the start.
Elskerinne makes another cover...
ONE!
TWO!
Kelsey kicks out again!
Ruby Parvati: Yet Kelsey holds on... which I suddenly feel angered by.
The crowd remain on Kelsey's side, although there are Elskerinne supporters amongst them. Taking a different approach, Elskerinne goes to Spencer's legs and contorts them into an Indian Death Lock, with Elskerinne resting on her arm and side as she uses the bridge to apply pressure to Kelsey's legs.
Axel Reid: Look at this for a move, and consider how slow Kelsey will be when her legs are taken out.
Ruby Parvati: I have to admit... it's a good plan.
Spencer refuses to give in, shaking her head as her face bares utter misery and pain. Elskerinne continues to apply pressure, smiling all the while as if she truly wanted this kind of battle. Showing her loveable heart, Kelsey reaches for the ropes, extending her fingers out as far as they can go. With a perseverant mind, and with the crowd encouraging her to get them, Kelsey inches her way back, dragging Elskerinne along until she has the necessary means to grab the bottom rope and forcibly break the hold!
Axel Reid: And Kelsey got to the ropes!
Ruby Parvati: But now she has bad legs. That's a key factor right now.
Spencer feels her damaged legs once Elskerinne unties herself from them, now smiling with respect and admiration. Still, the urge to win sets in for her, and she knows she has to use this opportunity wisely. As Kelsey attempts to stand, Elskerinne approaches her opponent and kicks at one of her legs, sending Spencer back down to one knee. That's when E gets Spencer in a facelock and connects with a DDT!
Ruby Parvati: See how that changes things with this match? Elskerinne just levelled Kelsey with a DDT without much resistance!
Elskerinne makes another cover, something the referee has not yet tired from...
ONE!
TWO!
THR-- NO!
Axel Reid: Kelsey kicks out again! Her spirit continues to thrive!
JB shakes her head, whereas Thea seems impressed with both of them. As Elskerinne stands, even she seems to be willing Kelsey to do the same, almost becoming her motivator instead of her opponent. The crowd applaud as Kelsey begins to do just that, finally standing and stumbling. But before she can get her defences up, Elskerinne catches her with the Sling Blade, undoing all of her effort to stand up in the first place! Another cover then occurs, this time with a leg hooked...
ONE!
TWO!
THRE-- NO!
Spencer will not surrender! Elskerinne continues to smile proudly, yet for the first time, there seems to be a little sign of uncertainty, as if she is beginning to have doubts about her chances of winning.
Ruby Parvati: See, if Kelsey had stuck with Ms Saint, she'd be unstoppable!
Axel Reid: Kelsey is much better off without her, and we're all seeing that now. Even Elskerinne is seeing it!
Returning to a submission game, Elskerinne starts to set up the Chikara Special... until Spencer suddenly has the energy to roll out of the loose lock and sweep Elskerinne at the same time! Filling up with adrenaline, knowing she has to do something now in order to prevent defeat, Spencer shakes as she powers herself back up... countering a Lou Thesz Press from Elsky with a beautiful dropkick!
Axel Reid: Kelsey is on the comeback! Can she hold on here?
Nodding to herself, but also to the fans in attendance, Kelsey uses the spirit she can feel consuming her by bringing Elskerinne and laying into her with chops, kicks and a knee strike! Elsky fails to go down from these... until Spencer spins Elskerinne around with a clubbing forearm, hooks her arms behind her back and delivers a Tiger Suplex with a bridge!
Axel Reid: Tiger Suplex connects!
The referee counts...
ONE!
TWO!
THR-- NO!
Elskerinne just manages to push herself up off her shoulders and fall to the side! Still channelling adrenaline, Spencer wastes no time keeping Elskerinne dazed, whipping her to the corner and charging in with a flying clothesline! Elskerinne feels her chest painfully, but Spencer then jumps up and Monkey Flips Elsky over and away from the corner! From there, with the crowd thoroughly invested, Spencer mounts the turnbuckles and, with a respectful nod, leaps up with a Frog Splash!
Axel Reid: FROG SPLASH!
Ruby Parvati: Is she seriously going to win again?!
The referee slides into position!
ONE!
TWO!
THREE???
NO! NO! ELSKERINNE KICKS OUT!
Axel Reid: No! This match continues!
Ruby Parvati: So much for that effort, huh...
Axel Reid: Actually, Kelsey can still achieve this if she keeps Elskerinne grounded!
Unfortunately, Spencer doesn't hear Axel's piece of advice, instead bringing Elskerinne up and going for the Spitfire Suplex! But before Elskerinne's arms can be fully locked against her chest, she rears back with a backwards headbutt, sending Spencer away! Feeling her face again, Kelsey is left subjected to a receipt from Elsky, this in the form of a spinning kick to the shins, which brings Spencer down to one knee.
Axel Reid: I think we know where this is going...!
Sure enough, as Axel suspects, Elskerinne hits the ropes, leading to the Running With Scissors!
Axel Reid: Running With Scissors!
That is until the last millisecond, when Kelsey stands up and leans back from the oncoming Axe Kick! After stamping the ground instead of Kelsey's neck, Elsky hobbles on her affected foot before Spencer quickly school boys Elskerinne... only to transform it into the KELSEY CLOVERLEAF!
Ruby Parvati: This is getting interesting!
Axel Reid: We could be about to see the Kelsey Cloverleaf!
Somehow, Elskerinne blocks the Cloverleaf by pulling Spencer towards her with her leg strength, cinching in a Small Package for a counter-intuitive pin attempt!
ONE!
TWO!
TH-
Kelsey unravels herself from Elskerinne and avoids defeat!
Axel Reid: This is so back-and-forth, I honestly have no prediction here!
The crowd applaud unanimously as these two combatants struggle back to their feet, using whatever resources they have left in order to conclude this match. As Elskerinne is the first to stand, she attempts to get off a Bicycle Kick. Spencer manages to avoid the kick and grabs Elsky for a Back Suplex. However, E rotates over her shoulder and lands on her feet in a squatted position... only to rise up and spin around at the same time as she decimates Kelsey with a DISCUS PUNCH!
Axel Reid: The Discus Punch got Kelsey!
Immediately on the verge of unconsciousness, Kelsey falls backwards into the ropes, which serve only to propel her forwards again. Before she can fall flat on her face, however, Elskerinne quickly latches onto Kelsey's body, ducks under the arm and sweeps her up and backward with the SOS!
Axel Reid: THE END OF ERAS!
Ruby Parvati: And Kelsey is knocked out... I think!
Elskerinne wraps Kelsey into a cover before the referee starts counting!
ONE!
TWO!
THREE!!!
DING DING DING!!!
Axel Reid: And Elskerinne gets another victory here in Flint, Michigan in a great contest!
Elskerinne rolls away from the downed Spencer, who is not knocked out at all; just fatigued and weary. The latter groggily feels her face as Elsky raises her arms in victory, the referee confirming her win as he grips her wrist and points to the staff at ringside.
Jerry Heisenberg: Here is your winner... ELSKERINNE!!!
Ruby Parvati: Now, I'll say it again... had Kelsey followed Ms Saint's principles and disciplinary procedures, she would have won this match!
Axel Reid: Kelsey could have won on her own, as I said before. She doesn't need Rebecca Saint, and quite frankly, no one does! However, it is Elskerinne who gets the victory in a match that ends the festivities for us tonight.
Ruby Parvati: Indeed...
As the commentators wrap up the show, Elskerinne actually approaches Kelsey and tends to her, making sure she is alright after a gruelling match. With a nod of certainty, Elskerinne helps Kelsey up and embraces her again, this time out of affection and not for a creative ploy. Kelsey accepts it and then she gets her arm raised, which further increases the cheers inside the arena. Even Thea applauds this show of respect. JB, on the other hand, does not.
Axel Reid: So, ladies and gentleman, thank you for joining us here at Breakthrough #43. Be sure to join in again for Breakthrough #44, where we will be coming to Saginaw, Michigan!
Ruby Parvati: That's got to be better than this place right?
Axel Reid: I... hope so...?
As most of the post-match festivities begin to wrap up between Elskerinne and Kelsey, the lights in the arena go out. Confusion overtakes the crowd and the two women in the ring for a few moments until the sounds of a tornado siren and thunder begin to play through the sound system, the audience immediately erupting into cheers as a dark blue hue radiates through the lights whenever the siren reaches its peak.
Axel Reid: Well it looks like before we head off the air here Ruby, a certain Hybrid is fixing to come make an appearance in front of the Flint, Michigan crowd.
Ruby Parvati: I thought this idiot wasn't supposed to be here tonight, what kind of messed up BS is this where he goes the whole show not here then right at the last second decides to arrive?!?
Axel Reid: You act as though he did this specifically to annoy you.
Ruby Parvati: Any presence of this goody-two-shoes annoys me, Axel.
The thunder sound continues to grow louder and louder until both it and the siren completely cut out. Immediately, words formed from lightning graphics begin appearing on the tron as the fans follow suit by announcing each word:
"TIME"
"TO"
"SHINE!"
Suddenly, a lightning strike pyrotechnic hits the stage and smoke begins bellowing from the spot that was hit as the opening static rift to "Time To Shine" by Saliva begins to play. Just as the song goes to the opening guitar rift, out from the smoke runs out Tyler Storm to a roar of cheers from the crowd. Tyler smiles as he walks to both sides of the stage, signaling to the crowd and mouthing words of respect to them before walking back to the middle of the stage and letting out a yell of "Time To!" which the audience responds with "Be Witness!" Tyler then begins walking down the ramp towards the ring, high-fiving and hugging fans along the way.
Axel Reid: Just an absolutely huge ovation here tonight for the former I4NI Champion, he really had a war with Heath Williams at Nothing Even Matters. He may not be a champion anymore, but he certainly still shows that heart and will that few people in this company can match.
As Tyler reaches the end of the ramp, he stops his normal high energy antics as he stares down the two women in the ring, eventually hopping onto the ring apron and slowly entering the ring as his music fades away and the fans continue their cheering. Soon this turns to slight silence as the wonder of why Tyler is out here just looking over these two women has no real explanation.
Ruby Parvati: So...nothing? He has nothing to say right now? Are my prayers finally being answered?
Kelsey and Elskerinne, both standing at different corners of the ring, continue to stare down Storm as Elskerinne's two friends JB and Thea also do the same. Finally, Kelsey begins to slowly walk her way towards Tyler, and right as she does this Tyler turns full attention to Elskerinne and begins approaching her, giving a slight nod to Kelsey before she exits the ring in confusion. The crowd's reaction turns back to cheers as Tyler stands more in the center of the ring and Elskerinne begins approaching him, with JB and Thea sliding in as well as they stand alongside their friend.
Axel Reid: I'm still not entirely sure what this little moment is, but I feel as though Tyler is out here to confront Elskerinne, not just to come say hi to everyone.
Ruby Parvati: The way he is glaring at her is a bit offsetting, it's as if he has a target set on the woman, but why?
Tyler and Elskerinne continue to glance one another over to the cheers of the audience, Elskerinne placing her arms against JB and Thea as to keep them from interfering in whatever may happen and a soft smile comes across her face. She laughs a bit as she begins to get an idea of Tyler's confrontation reasoning, and a smile forms on the Hybrid's face as well as he seems to have gotten through his message, but to guarantee there is no confusion mouths something to Elskerinne that is inaudible but caught by the two commentators.
Axel Reid: Fate...Tyler just muttered that to Elskerinne I think. Do you think this is...
Ruby Parvati: A challenge for Fate of the Gods? Maybe, and Tyler is crazy if he thinks it's best to get in the way of the freight train that is Elskerinne.
Axel Reid: The thing with Tyler, he is going to do what he feels can help him achieve the next level of success. Elskerinne may be part of that path he must take to achieve the goal he has set, which from many times before he has said is that top of the mountain here in VoW.
Ruby Parvati: Well, the guy is going to need some luck, because I guarantee if he really is out here to challenge her, then he is about to experience some very rough times.
Elskerinne gives a slight nod to Tyler, mouthing off something of her own that the crowd can easily tell is "Long Live" as the scene fades to black with the two continuing their stare down.
