The following is a letter that was dropped in the mailbox of Rayne Draven Omega and Ryan Omega. It wasn’t addressed, but rather held one name across it: Rayne. The words seemed to be written in some sort of sanguine ink perhaps? The envelope was sealed with an old-fashioned piece of formerly melted wax which was decorated with little imprints of cornstalks and the words: “if I only had a brain.” Regardless, inside said envelope, whoever opened it would find a yellow piece of parchment paper with words scrawled in an almost outdated handwriting. The apparent aged state of the parchment almost made the letter seem eerier than ever.
My Dear Rayne,
“The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and the oldest and strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown.” ~HP Lovecraft
Despite what some may have you believe, this quote has held true throughout the history of mankind; why? Fear is the most basic animalistic urge in our bodies. No matter what Mommy and Daddy tell you or even your church will have you believe, we humans are animals. Once fear kicks in, a basic instinct kicks in as well. At that moment, we find ourselves with two ultimate options: fight or flight.
Some animals choose the flight response, hoping they can flee from whatever it is that they fear never to see it again, but don’t we all know much better than that. Even as the gazelle flees the lion, if that lion doesn’t catch her, she will find herself in another chase once more. That flight response may ensure the idea that our creature may live another day, but what then? Eventually, that lion will catch up to our beloved gazelle. The only logical response to turn to at that point is to fight.
When fear turns violent, the fight response takes over. There are some humans who go into a haunted house and when the actor comes out to scare them, everyone realizes that the actor should have been the one scared the whole time as they lie on the ground, knocked out by a sucker punch. That is the fight response. My subject has turned to the fight response. She has made the mistake of calling me out to the ring.
Care to know what is so humorous about that fact? That was my plan all along. This whole scarecrow gimmick was just that; a gimmick to get exactly what I wanted. Rayne, you also have some convoluted, romantic ideal of what is happening. A former lover come to take revenge not only on her, but her current lover. That couldn’t be further from the truth, but people will believe what they want to believe. I never confirmed anything, but I never denied it either. Does that make me a bad person? No. The world of professional wrestling is full of idiosyncrasies of which the world around it would consider taboo yet they treasure anyway. You will all know exactly what I mean after you fall at my hands.
On television and across the world, I know what everyone is thinking. I know what is running through the mind of you my dear Rayne, and feel free to believe whatever you like on the matter. This crusade of mine isn’t even about you, see. You are a mere pawn in the grand scheme of everything; a tool, if you will. I’m sure denial will not allow you to understand and see that, but, Rayne, the quicker you accept that, the less painful all of this will be. You will also find out in due time that this world, your friends, and your family are not always what they may seem. Trust no one, Rayne, not even that peon you consider your closest friend and husband, Ryan Omega. I wouldn’t bother with Reya either. For all you know, I could be a product of their musings. I could be.
Ask yourself one thing, Rayne: where have they been as I have been stalking you and standing over you? Sure, Reya allowed you to come out to the ring with her during the match. I want you to think about that for a second. Why would someone knowing ask you to join her in an area where it would be easier for me to find you? Did you seriously believe that I wouldn’t be able to find you at ringside? Surely, this is but a mockery; a mere jest. If I only had a brain; indeed. Perhaps it should be “if you only had a brain.”
And Ryan Omega? Where has your “loving” husband been throughout all of this? I’m sure he soothes you at night when you two lie with your nude forms intertwined at night, but where is he when all of the shit hits the fan? When I am bringing all your fears to fruition, where’s the groom of your life? Wait, I think I know what you’ll say: he’s busy, right? If that is what you need to tell yourself, feel free. Just remember, the quicker you remove the blinders, the sooner you will free yourself from the inhibitions which bind you.
You aren’t the only one, Rayne. There are many who allow their inhibitions bind them: Sophia Halter, Scarlet Flint, Big Boss Hogg, Reya Serra, Ace Watson, and Tyler Storm just to name a few. Each one of them are naught but pawns in a greater scheme; a conspiracy, Rayne, just like you. This world we know as Visionaries of Wrestling is nothing more than a Conspiracy of Wrestling. You are nothing more than a cog in this machine and I seek to open your eyes before it is too late. Once I leave you lying in the ring looking up at my visage, you will learn, you will feel, but more importantly the words that I say will enter not only your skull, but your mind and your soul.
I am not some preacher of God, Missus Omega. I am merely the true Alpha and Omega who will usher in a world of change. Existence isn’t just about existing. No, it is about living up to your expectations. What is your expectation, Rayne? The Alpha and Omega says he expects you to be the sacrificial lamb. I will accept your sacrifice at anytime. If you refuse? Well, Rayne, there will be no refusal. This isn’t an option like when your sugar daddy, Ryan, put a massive diamond in front of you and promised you would never have to worry about money ever again. Your tainted love is apart of the problem. I am a symbol of that, and as I was the Beginning, I shall be the End of it all. At Heatstroke, you will lie at my feet as I remove my mask. Understanding will flood to you at that moment and fear will waste away as you realize what must be done.
This is but a lesson, Rayne; a mere lesson. For some, it takes much longer to learn this lesson than others, but you seem to have caught on over the past few weeks. Or had you? In some part of you, Stockholm Syndrome seems to be taking over your very soul. An obsession has taken over your heart. You lust for the very mask I wear despite the phobias which cause you to stumble yet there you stood at Breakthrough, bravely weathering the storm to challenge me to competition in the ring. There is a fine, fine line between bravery and stupidity, Rayne. I suppose you’ll find out which one pertains to you in only a few nights, yes?
O ho ho! If you only had a brain…
