STANDARD ENTRANCE THEME
"Lucky Star" - Madonna
STANDARD ENTRANCE DESCRIPTION: The classic pop tune "Lucky Star" by Madonna starts up as spotlights shine upward through the stage toward the rafters above. A light shower of glitter is released from above, catching the aforementioned lights nicely as Zahara Matisse twirls her way through the curtains, coming to a stop at the top of the ramp. She takes a grand bow once there, briefly removing her top hat before rising and putting it back in place. She's all smiles on her way down the ramp, magically creating flowers from the tip of her wand and handing them to the children in the crowd as she passes and sometimes showering them with confetti and streamers as well. For one lucky fan on the way down, she produces from within her top hat one of her t-shirts.
Reaching the ring, she hops easily onto the apron, briefly posing in front of the ropes with another bow and tip of her hat before rising and stepping through the top and middle strands. Ascending the turnbuckles, she twirls her wand between her fingers, she flicks it in the direction of the ringside fans, causing loud pops to sound and more confetti to stream down from above, getting a happy reaction in response. Hopping down to the mat, she removes her hat, gloves and coat, setting them beneath the bottom turnbuckle along with her wand before beginning to stretch in preparation for her match.
PPV/SPECIAL ENTRANCE THEME
"Melody Circus" - Savant
PPV/SPECIAL ENTRANCE DESCRIPTION: The lights go down in the arena and a pulse appears on the screen above the stage, one which reacts in time with the opening beats to the electronica-styled beats of "Melody Circus" by Savant. At every pause and subtle shift in the music, a strobe effect starts up, the first being placed at the top of the ramp upon a figure standing with their head bowed. The second time, the figure is already at the bottom of the ramp. The final shifts in the music come quickly, and the lights give off the image of the figure on each turnbuckle until the song kicks up full blast, with a spotlight on the last corner to show Zahara Matisse standing there, head down and wand raised high.
She lifts her head and smiles at the cheering crowd, twirling her wand skillfully before pointing it at several points over the crowd in turn, sending out bursts of glitter, confetti and flower petals to drift over and upon them. Undoing the front of her black jacket, she opens it wide and sweeps it off with a flourish before dropping it over the top rope. Dropping down to the mat, she tucks her wand under her arm, removing her gloves and hat, setting all three beneath the turnbuckles. All the while she's soaking up the crowd reaction and smiling brightly, yet her eyes are very much intense and locked-on. "Melody Circus" fades out and she backs into the corner, awaiting the start of the match.

BIOGRAPHY
Zoey Anne had an uncharacteristically happy childhood, growing up with two loving parents and a big brother, Drake, who was always there for her. Though they weren't rich, she grew up without wanting for anything, spending a lot of time with her brother who wrestled through middle and high school as well as college. With both parents working much of the time, the siblings became near-inseparable. She was always eager for him to have some free time so that he could show her the moves he'd learned, but she also filled her time with gymnastics and dance lessons (predominantly jazz) with a little cheerleading on the side. A lust to perform seemed ingrained into her from an early age and such extracurriculars gave her an outlet to do so. As she grew older, the schedules of the siblings became more intense and there was less and less time to spend together and once Drake enlisted in the Marines, said time was nonexistent. So to fill the time Zoey took up another passion of hers: magic. Stage magic, to be precise.
Attending any magic shows that she could in nearby Atlantic City, Zoey took a particular liking to illusionists and escape artists, practicing what tricks she could in her spare time before having a magician of some renown take her under his wing. In time she became quite proficient and served as the magician's assistant multiple times. This concerned her parents, who knew well the perils of being an entertainer, but their fears were unfounded as Zoey assured them that she intended to go to college before settling on a career. The magic stuff, she explained, was something she wanted to do for fun. A year and a half into college saw her starring in her own shows at a couple of the smaller Atlantic City casinos and though it was hardly a grand spectacle she took great pleasure in her work while studying physical therapy and sports medicine at the local college. Another few years, she told herself, and she could start a proper career...just in time for Drake to return home.
Except he never did. A call came in late one evening as Zoey was returning to her apartment after her largest show yet, with her mother tearfully telling her the news that Drake was killed in action across the world. Zoey was devastated, needless to say, and withdrew into herself for a few weeks while barely finding the drive to go to class or practice her magic. A letter came in three weeks after the call, sent from her brother to her. It almost broke her to just see the envelope but she made herself open it and read the page, instantly recognizing his neat script. He told her all about how things were going over at the base and even sent pictures of himself and his fellow soldiers goofing off during some rare downtime. For the first time in weeks she actually smiled, even if it was through a lot of tears. When she got to the last page, however, Drake's words struck her even more powerfully. He told her that when he made it home, he meant to try his hand at professional wrestling, something that had been his dream ever since he started the sport in middle school, and he wanted her to try out with him.
Where more tears should have come, they instead stopped. Determination took the place of sadness and Zoey decided then and there that she'd find her way into wrestling, magic and all, to honor her brother and his dream. And thus began her training to be a wrestler, where she called upon countless sessions with Drake to help her along and completed her training in four months. All the while, tough as the training could be on her with everything else in her life fighting for time alongside it, she recalled the last line of Drake's letter to her:
"I'm proud of you. Don't ever change who you are for anyone or anything."
Now, balancing her last year of college with her stage show schedule and her new undertaking as a wrestler, Zoey, using her magician's stage name Zahara Matisse, is determined to make sure that her brother stays proud of her until she can see him again. Out of all the feds out there, Visionaries of Wrestling was the first to show interest in her and she immediately sent in an application upon discovering such. So far, the company has been very good to her, offering opportunities that she has thus far been able to capitalize on. The only dark marks on her record currently are a pair of losses to Constance Chapin, both earned during attempts at the Xcel Championship. Those results have discouraged Zahara as an immediate reaction, but as is becoming usual for her the plucky New Jerseyite finds her way back to a positive state of mind, thanks in no small part to her friends, fans and significant other, Katalina Star.
Zahara is also learning just how challenging the wrestling business can be, not only in the ring but in terms of backstage politics, tumultuous relationship situations and the wear and tear that comes with the constant travel grind. Friends become enemies and vice versa, lovers switch allegiance of the heart on a whim and often it's too much for Zahara to keep up with given her simple, stable upbringing. It has shown lately in her addresses to her opponents and the fans via rare displays of frustration and short outbursts. For now, none of this has affected her ring work and she's been bolstered by new friendships both in and outside of VoW. But as she becomes more and more active, and the pressure invariably increases, it stands to reason that further cracks in her armor and displays of temper and unbridled emotion will come about. That she has officially signed to a second company could likely play into this as well.

WRESTLING STYLE: Acrobatic Striker
STRENGTHS:
- Success by Osmosis: The fans have seemingly adopted Zahara as a favorite. In the same fashion as she feeds off of and manipulates the senses of the people in the crowd when doing magic on stage, so does Zahara in the ring. It isn't the be-all, end-all in terms of helping her get the win, but a hot crowd can push her to new heights in her matches.
- Mixed Training: Zahara was always keen to practice wrestling with her brother when not training in dance and gymnastics. She's also learned a little from her various opponents. As recently as two months ago, she took up an intense training regimen centered around MMA. This mix of flexibility, endurance and knowledge has resulted in more complete and effective wrestler.
- Can-Do Attitude: She never wants for positivity and drive. Zahara knows that mistakes happen and so do losses. Even when she's on her back or trapped in a nasty submission, she'll fight forward until she breaks out or can't fight anymore.
WEAKNESSES:
- Overdrive: Lately, the combination of Zahara's training schedule, dates in Vegas and the constant travel that comes with being a part of two wrestling organizations has begun to wear on her. She always pushes herself to the limit in the ring, but it catches up to her more often now.
- Protective Instincts: She's already told the tales of the luck shes had with friends in the past. Anyone who seeks to threaten those she cares about will find a fiery magician coming right at them. It hasn't happened yet, but this is bound to become a distraction for Zahara eventually in the ring.
- Style Versus Substance: She tries to keep it in check but Zahara is a born entertainer. One moment too much garnering fan attention or a little too much flash on a maneuver can get her into a bad spot if she's not careful.
