Talon was slowly making her way up to the stable after a much needed ride on Sleipnir, one which she shared in part with Emma and her own steed, Charon. To say the woman had chosen the perfect horse for herself was an understatement. The creature was solidly built and the deepest black one could imagine with long, silk black hair for it mane and tail and around its hooves. It was a Gypsy horse, also known as an Irish Cob, and it was beautiful and quite powerful. Once she came up to the front of the stable, she lifted up a bit out of the saddle and swung her leg over, dismounting on the left side of the enormous creature. She could actually be seen softly smiling due to the crinkling of her mask as she petted the horse's neck and began walking Sleipnir into the barn and to his stall.
Not far removed from that moment, she had a brush in hand and was stroking it through Sleipnir's mane when a massive figure entered the stall along with her. He said nothing, instead putting his hands to her hips and giving her body a faint squeeze. Talon's hand pauses halfway through the length of the horse's long mane, leaning a little into the tower of a human settled behind her. She smiled as she leaned back and though she was overheated and quite sweaty, she had enjoyed her ride earlier with Emma and had actually had a good time. Something the public rarely got to see of her, but it was obvious her time on Sleipnir was much needed and deeply enjoyed. She angled her head to look to him and arched, popped her back as she went back to meticulously combing the stallions mane, but still remained against Sentinel.
"Mmm, to what do I owe the honor of you in the stables today, love?"
"Mostly because I missed your presence. Slightly less so are your feelings on this match..."
Friends fight friends all the time in wrestling. But facing a fellow sister, a stablemate, especially in a handicapped situation such as this, brought about questions. There would be queries as to both sides' loyalty, the motivations of War and whether the group could survive the aftermath. Sentinel knew this.
"It caught even me by surprise."
She sighed and nodded, picking up a carrot and snapping it in half. Talon flattened her palm and let Sleipnir eat it out of her hand, the giant horse proving to be surprisingly gentle. Fury smiled and placed her forehead to his and the stallion seemed to bow his head to her to allow her to do so. She then looked back to Sentinel from over her shoulder and nodded.
"It did me, too. However, I commend her for taking responsibility for her actions and willing to come up with and deal with her punishment to atone. It takes a brave soul to do what she is doing and it should be seen as strength on her part. If this is her decision then, as her sister, I must respect it and help her achieve it."
"Makes her braver than most men I know."
Retorts the Destroyer as he watches Talon's rapport with her animal from a closer vantage point. When he started seeing similarities between the peace she gave Sleipnir and that which she bestowed upon him, he cut those thoughts free. They would only lead in strange directions. Instead, he walked forward a bit and set a hand on her shoulder.
"No mercy, Ren. Joanna would not appreciate that."
She had a way with animals that even she didn't understand, nor did she try really. She calmed them just as they seemed to calm her. She saw some burrs within her mane and began to carefully work them out along with any knots that occurred. She then turned and looked to Sentinel and chortled.
"And when have you ever seen me not go full tilt? I never have when we've faced in the ring, so what makes you think I will on her?"
Talon, in fact, sounded rather insulted that Sentinel would even insinuate such a thing.
"Years outside of the wars can change a person. You may not like my saying so, but I'm within my rights to make sure that your focus is what it should be. It isn't a question of doubt, but of certainty."
"I do not mind you helping me train and focus. You know that full well."
She stopped running the comb through the horses mane and turned to look to him directly.
"However, I take things like this very seriously...especially when it comes to my sisters. And I will give her nothing less than my best since she is stepping up herself and will demand such. Certainly she will give hers in kind."
"Then I worried for nothing. I apologize."
He strode forward, putting a hand to her cheek to cup it, turning her just a little so that he might place a kiss upon her masked lips. While it doesn't linger overmuch, the potency is still there. When next he speaks, their lips are barely separated.
"I will see you inside, then?"
She nodded to him in response to that and as he stepped forward and captured her lips within his through the silken mask, her eyes closed, a sharp inhale heard, giving audible proof to the potency of the short, yet electric kiss. Licking her lips once he barely release her, she nods.
"Of course my love. I won't be long."
She would turn her attention back to the majestic animal before her and put the comb down and got the brush up and began to do long strokes down his neck and front legs, starting to groom the main part of the horse's body. Apparently though, she was not done speaking her mind.
"I do understand my husband's concern as I have been out of the game as it were for quite some time before making a return here in VoW. However, make no mistake, dear sister: I will not go easy on you in any sense of the word. You will receive the full power of the Horsewoman of Fury. And as my name would entail, that is quite the ungodly amount. More, perhaps, than even you, one of the originals, could fathom or withstand."
Her hands set that brush to gliding over Sleipnir's body as she seemed to pause and think about what she wished to say further. She would turn her attention back to the majestic animal before her and put the comb down, replacing it with the brush. Talon started a series of long strokes down the animal's neck and front legs, starting to groom the main part of the horse's body. Apparently, though, she was not done speaking her mind.
"Because, after all, you DID ask for it."
She adds with a small smile behind her mask.
"But I wonder how much of this is just in your mind. I recall no admissions of concern over your actions or suspension, no threats of punishment for wrongdoing directed your way. You got the idea into your own head that you deserve what's to come for the damage that you've done. To which I ask...
...what damage? What wrongdoing? My first thought was that you were turning masochistic on us, at which point I might have called my brother-in-law to have words with you, him being an authority on such things. Come to think of it, the two of you might get along famously."
The mere mention of Zachariah Blood brings another expression to her face beneath the crimson silk; she smirks, and quite potently too. Were it not for said mask, she might have licked those red lips of hers.
"But now I understand."
She would kneel and pluck up what looked to be a hooked instrument from the table after placing the brush down. Making two quick, sharp clicking sounds between her teeth, Sleipnir obediently lifted his front left hoof back and she rested it on her thigh and started digging the dirt and gunk out from his hooves.
"I won't fully explain it as, I believe that is your call on whether or not you wish the world as a whole to understand. But the fact that you do and that we do is what matters here. You need this and I get that. Trust me, I do...more than you might realize. It is because of that understanding that I will give you every ounce of what I have inside that ring. And it will be without the arrogant pre-match regimen of insults and trash-talk that so many of our would-be peers might rely on. Because there's no need for that within our group. The truth, on the other hand..."
Practiced as she is at the mundane yet necessary task at hand, she quickly finishes the first hoof and moves to the other as Sleipnir stands calm in her hands.
"...is that you will be marked by the end. Your ferocity is well known among allies and enemies alike, but you've never faced strength like mine. Our sisters could make similarly compelling cases for what they have that you lack, but the onus of such a choice is on them. Strength alone will not carry me to a win over you, but that is a door that it WILL open."
She got all four hooves clean and cleaned up the table with the tools upon it and put them away in their proper place, feeding him the last half of that carrot. Once the horse was eating happily, she turned to face the camera fully, folding her arms over her chest.
"Make no mistake, this WILL happen and you will feel it by the end and be torn by it. I will make sure you know and fully understand why I am now your sister and why I am the embodiment of Fury. You wish to pay for your sins, dear War? I shall be more than happy to oblige you."
Talon walks out of the shot as the scene fades to black.
