As the scene brightens, we’re shown a very familiar setting - the same darkened room, with the same table we’ve grown accustomed to seeing during these videos. Tyron Bickerton walks into frame.
“Good evening, America,” he says, folding his hands. “Tonight, I bring you yet another installment in the Tour of Self-Destruction. We’ll head further than we have on this tour - all the way back to Oceania - where we meet a very important person in the past of Heath Williams.”
There’s a moment of silence as the scene fades out.
The scene fades back in to show a rugged-up Tyron walking across an icy street. The whistling of the wind can be heard against the camera’s microphone, as he looks over his shoulder to address the viewers.
“We’re here in Auckland, New Zealand - Heath’s hometown - where we’ll be meeting up with yet another person whose life has been ravaged by their association with Heath Williams.”
He approaches a house, climbs a small set of brick stairs and knocks on the door. After a moment of waiting patiently, the door slightly opens to reveal a large, rather-imposing blonde woman as the house’s tenant.
“Can I help you?” she asks, seemingly confused by Tyron’s presence there.
“It’s me, Taylor,” he responds, referring to his former ring name Taylor Williams, hinting that this woman may have been around for the FBW days.
“Ah, right,” she responds, nodding her head. She moves out of the doorway, motioning for him and the cameraman to step inside her home. Tyron wipes his feet and follows her inside, removing his beanie and woollen gloves as he steps into the heated house. “Can I get you anything? Tea, coffee?”
“Tea would be lovely, thank you.”
The woman begins fixing warm beverages, and the pair stand in the kitchen for a chat.
“So, many of you may not know this woman,” Tyron says to the camera. “But, this is Jodah Kayne, a professional wrestler from right here in Auckland. She used to wrestle for a little promotion you may have heard of called Future Bebo Wrestling.”
“That’s right,” she nods, confirming his story. “That was a long time ago. I was actually shocked when you called me and asked to talk; I didn’t think you’d remember me.”
“Why’s that?”
“Because no-one does, really,” she confesses. “My career has floundered, people don’t recognise me like they used to anymore...”
“Which is strange to me, because you were such a big name in FBW. You were in F.U.E.L, and then Dominance Femmes with Nikki Sanchez and Sweet Poison - you were a force to be reckoned with in FBW!”
She nods once again with disappointment at her faltering career, realising that her best days are most certainly behind her. She pours the boiled water into two ceramic mugs, inching one of them in Tyron’s direction. As he squeezes a lemon wedge into the tea and stirs it, he listens intently to Jodah’s story.
“I had it all - I held the Women’s Championship; I was the first ever Unified Star Champion, you know.”
“That was the night you beat Becky Saint to unify the Women’s and Star Championships, wasn’t it?” Tyron questions.
“Exactly. It was a real honour to be considered the best female in the company at that point. But, knowing now what I didn’t know then... I wish I hadn’t achieved that feat.”
Tyron takes a sip from his tea, with a look of concern on his face. “Why’s that, Jodah? What happened?”
“Heath Williams is a pig, first and foremost!” she angrily declares. “He used his position of authority as a weapon against the women who worked for him!”
“He was running the whole company by this point, wasn’t he?” Tyron asks for clarification, after a big gulp of his tea.
“Yeah, this was after he managed to poach FBW from Cheyenne Star - its rightful owner,” Jodah explains. “Because he was the one signing our paychecks each week, he believed that he could force us to do anything he wants. And, I do mean anything.”
Tyron covers his mouth with a balled fist, as if he’s trying to prevent himself from vomiting with disgust - it’s very clear what Jodah is accusing Heath of.
“It turned out the whole title unification tournament was just his way of scouting for female companionship,” Jodah informs Tyron and the viewers. “I’m convinced he had planned this from the very start - whomever became the Unified Star Champion would be in his sights. I can confirm that I was the one chosen to fill that role.”
Every word Jodah speaks - and the way she speaks - comes across as rehearsed; it’s very difficult to tell if she’s being sincere or not.
“What did you do in response to his disgusting proposal?” Tyron questions, finishing what’s left of his tea.
“I did what any self-respecting woman would do,” she declares. “I quit the company. I’d never become someone’s designated sex slave! But of course, Heath being Heath, he couldn’t let it go. He couldn’t accept that I had rejected him, and so he took it upon himself to tarnish my legacy.”
“He made sure no-one would ever hire you…” Tyron concludes, after putting the pieces of the puzzle together.
“And I never worked in a major promotion again. He told them ridiculous lies about me being difficult to work with, refusing to work with my colleagues and demanding higher pay… Everything I worked so hard to achieve; gone! They believed his word over mine.”
She shields her face from the camera with her hands as she breaks down into tears. Tyron places a hand on her shoulder for comfort, and then motions for the cameraman to follow him out of the house. He delivers his final thoughts as they exit Jodah’s home, her sobbing still audible as background noise.
“A once fierce, Amazonian Warrior reduced to a blubbering mess after enduring unimaginable emotional anguish at the hands of this beast,” Tyron concludes. “What other traumatic experiences await those in his future if he’s not stopped?”
He pauses, stares at the ground, and collects his thoughts.
“I failed Jodah back then,” he confesses. “I should’ve been able to drive Heath Williams out of power, but I wasn’t strong enough.” His gaze returns to the camera. “I promise to you right now, America, I will not let this tyrant continue his rampage! At Fate of the Gods, I will put an end to this travesty that has gone on far too long. Heath Williams will get the help he needs; that is my vow to you.
Good night, America.”
