An Open Letter To Hugo Strange
Dear Hugo,
Never did I think I would be writing this letter, nor did I think that I would come face to face with you again after our last encounter. It was more than a year ago that the two of us stood in a wrestling ring and competed against one another, the third match we had had until now.
The first two were held in neutral venues in interfederational promotions. Neither of us won the first encounter while I was able to emerge from the second multiple participant match with my hand raised as the victor.
The third? That was in your home federation...or shall I say former home federation, WARPED Wrestling. I bravely stepped into that ring, the ring you had come to view as your own, and battled you one on one.
It was equally as foreign to me as it was familiar to you Hugo, but I had something I sought to prove. I wanted to show that the last two matches against you were no fluke, that I could pin you in the middle of that ring with my talent and ability. In the end, however, the result of our third match was quite the opposite.
We went our separate ways after that. You went on to capture the WARPED Evolution Championship, if I recall correctly. I, on the other hand, reached heights such as winning the Phoenix Wrestling International Championship and depths such as being struck by lightning among other things.
Yet more than a year later, here we are once again put against one another. I have been with the Visionaries of Wrestling since their inception just a short time ago, in fact I was one of the first to sign on with the company. But even though this federation still lies in its infancy I have already become one of its brightest stars. Not only that but just take a look at the roster as a whole. My friends are here. My family, my sisters they are here as well.
This is my home Hugo, my house.
Sure, I know what you are thinking. I am still battered and bruised after my battle with Seth Iser at Exposure. You would be correct in that regard. That match definitely took its toll on me, that is for certain. However, I am not going to let that stop me from bringing my best against you on Breakthrough.
I will step into that ring, my ring, and I will defend it with everything that I have.
Think you can take it away from me, Hugo? Think that you can just waltz in here and take my home away from me? Think that it will be a simple task for a large man such as yourself to take it all away from little old me? I can assure you that it will not be.
Give it a shot if you think you can. In fact, I implore you to do so. Why? Because I want to see that smug look wash off of your face after you realize that you have just been pinned by The Herald of Holiness in the middle of the VOW ring, in her house of worship.
Maybe then this little rivalry of ours will go the way of your former federation and your career and come to an abrupt end…
...or perhaps you stepping onto my turf is merely just the beginning.
It shall be interesting to see what happens.
First things first though. At Breakthrough The Strange One takes his steps into foreign territory to battle The Herald. It will be a battle to behold indeed, but in the end as is the case with most battles the side most familiar with the terrain will be victorious. This time around, that advantage just so happens to go to me, The Herald of Holiness.
I shall win the battle and I pray that the victory shall end our war. I pray that once all is said and done you wave the white flag of surrender and walk away for your own good.
If not? Then you should prepare to face the wrath of The Herald. I can assure you that it will be unpleasant to say the least. Do not believe me? Ask Seth Iser. After all, whereas I have been cleared to compete in this first event after Exposure he was not even put on the card due to the injuries he sustained in our match. I will hold nothing back against you Hugo nor do I expect you to hold anything back against me.
Bring everything that you have so that you cannot say that you held back or any such thing of that sort. I am a big girl and I have proved time and time again that I am capable of taking the battering that others have put upon me.
Bring it on, Hugo. Hopefully you shall have no hard feelings when I leave you defeated in the ring and if you do, I doubt it will take much searching to find me and express them.
In closing, welcome to my house Hugo. I am sorry that your stay here will be merely a one night only affair, but what must be done must be done.
With that Mister Hugo Strange, I shall simply say to you...Vaya con Dios.
Sincerely,
Reya Serra Janason
