Lovecraft: We live in a world that has become corrupted by technology. I am among the guilty, carrying my smartphone like an extension of my own body. Mankind is slowly losing the ability to think for themselves, content to rely entirely upon the assorted mobile devices that provide them with information, entertainment, and communication.
The Mistress and Knight occupy an opulent study. Walls of bookshelves hold leather-bound volumes all around them. Scott leans casually against a brick fireplace, while Lilith is seated in a plush black leather chair. Knight's eyes follow his Mistress's every movement as she continues to address the camera.
Lovecraft: What I offer the Visionaries is an alternative to this arrangement. I offer you the chance to break away from the mindless herds. I offer the chance to reconnect with your true humanity. For I offer you an opportunity to experience the purest, truest, oldest of human emotions...
Knight shrugs himself from the wall and approaches the chair. He falls into position behind Lovecraft, folding his massive arms across his chest. A glimmer of a smirk plays across his face as his Mistress completes her thought.
Lovecraft: I offer you the chance to know fear. True fear. There is no sensation more primal, more human, than the terror one experiences in the ring with my champion. Last week, Maxwell Soloke learned what it means to feel fear. Even those Visionaries who hold "victories" over my Knight are unable to deny the terror they have experienced. Ask Bobby Backdoor if he felt any more alive after their encounter.
Scott smiles at the mention of Backdoor. Lovecraft pauses, as if collecting her thoughts, before continuing.
Lovecraft: Never does one feel as alive as in the moment before death. For my Knight's opponents, savage beatings offer the chance to know just how precious life and health truly are. This week, we extend the courtesy to one Shane Sparx. Mr. Sparx, I ask you...do you know what it means to truly live? Or are you another who needs our services? It matters not whether you know, or if you can admit to your desire to have the primal experience. The beating will be delivered just the same.
With a wave of her hand, Lovecraft motions for Knight to step forward. He makes his way around the chair and offers his hand. Lovecraft takes it and pulls herself from the seat. Standing, she levels her eyes at the camera.
Lovecraft: I advise you, Sparx, no, I urge you to enjoy the brutality you will be a part of at Breakthrough. Savor every agonizing sensation. If you have not learned to appreciate life just yet, you will. I promise you that.
