Since the fed's creation, we have been pretty laid back about whether or not our roster members have shown up. But I think we're at a position now where VOW can really take off. Of course, in order to do that, we need to have consistency. And if we bring in people who choose not to contribute to what it's going to take for this federation to succeed, then there are consequences they have to face. It's unfortunate that it has to come to this, but we as the staff have to draw the line somewhere. We've always said there was a three strikes system in place, but have never actually gone into detail about that system. Which is what I'm going to do right now, so please read this carefully.
First and foremost, this system DOES NOT coincide with our rules. It is strictly used for the roleplaying aspect of the fed. On top of that, we don't really have any behavioral issues so there is no need to link the two. However, that doesn't mean it's okay to violate the rules and regs of VOW, folks. They are in place for a reason. Please follow them at all times.
With that said, I'm going to break down the system as simply as I can, so there should be no reason anyone of our members doesn't understand and try their best to follow it.
1.) No Showing: Every time you no show for a match, you receive one strike. (The only exception is if something far more important happens, and you give us an advanced warning that you won't be able to roleplay for that particular event. We'd prefer if you notified someone on the staff no later than 72 hours from the deadline. That gives all of you a grand total of five days to let us know you can't, and us four days to make changes if necessary.)
2.) Punishment(Minor Strikes): With each strike that you accumulate, the punishments become more severe. Below is what happens from strike 1 to strike 3.
Strike One - You will receive a verbal warning from any of the active staff personnel. This is no cause for concern, but instead...think of this as more of a wake up call, and hopefully, our way of motivating you to try and post your rp for the next event.
Strike Two - A second strike will result in suspension of any and all characters that you are currently handling in the fed. This suspension isn't permanent and can be lifted, as long as you understand why it's important to show up for the matches you're a part of, or if you can't, why it's important to communicate with us so we know the reason why you can't. To get it lifted, you must first talk to one of the Co-founders. (Myself, Omega, Sky)
Strike Three - Unfortunately, no showing a third time will result in termination. You will be released from VOW, however it won't be permanent. If the time and the interest ever surfaces again on your end of it, all you have to do is talk to myself, Omega, or Sky and we'll give you another chance. Make sure you read below, because while we are forgiving... there is also another set of three strikes aside from these three. There is also a way to redeem yourself and remove any strikes you may have incurred during your run in VOW.
3.) Strike Removal: Incase you were wondering, there are two sets of strikes. The ones I just listed above are known as minor strikes and CAN be removed. Here is how...
As long as you remain consistent for a grand total of 90 days, or three months (With how spread out our schedule is, that shouldn't be too big an obstacle to overcome for anyone). Either by showing up for your matches, or by letting us know within the time frame given why you cannot, your strike will be removed. If you gain a second strike during that probation period, your 90 day probation starts over. Only one strike can be removed at a time, so please try your best to show up for matches... and if you cannot, please do everything in your power to make sure someone on the staff knows you can't show up. Communication is key in being part of a successful fed, folks. Minor strikes can be removed with effort and dedication to VOW, however Major strikes can not. Which brings me to final part of our system.
4.) Major Strikes: These are the big ones... and will not, under any circumstances, ever be removed from your record. The sum it up, if you obtain three strikes and are terminated from VOW, you also receive ONE major strike. If you accumulate three major strikes, you will be permanently removed from VOW. It's pretty unfortunate and some might even say unnecessary for us to go to these lengths, but at the end of the day... We are trying to run a successful fed here. We want things to be fun for all of you, of course. But at the same time, it has to be fun for the people running the show otherwise what's the point? We have fun by reading your roleplays. By writing your matches based off what happened in your roleplays. This system might seem unfair to some, but if you really look at the big picture, it's still a pretty lenient system.
At the end of the way, we want to see each and every one of our roster members thrive here in VOW, but we also need to start enforcing this system to make sure the people who are just along for the ride, and who have no intention of helping us grow are eventually shown the door.
Now, just to make sure this is done fairly... this system WILL be enforced after the upcoming PPV (Double Jeopardy). Thank you for taking the time to read what I'm sure probably looks like a wall of text.
