I Could've Been A Contender

Axel: Well I guess that time has arrived. English has ordered Ryan Omega come down to the ring and try to rectify what the English claims he did wrong. I am not sure I understand the whole situation.

Ruby: English is tired watching management massage the egos of certain members of the roster and condemn others. Ryan Omega is not fit to be in his position. He is not of sound mind considering the decisions he continues to make.

Axel: What are you talking about. Omega and Frie gave English the shot at the first championship announced in this company. The Xcel Championship, he was the one that lost to PKA.

Ruby: Then where is his rematch. The man has been nothing but consistent, I don;t see PKA around here week in and week out bleeding for these fans. The difference is the fans like him, they hate Casanova and he is still here week after week pleading his case to this ungrateful fools.

“Real Solution Number 9” hits the PA and the fans erupt into boos. Casanova appears on stage with his skinny legal representative at his side dressed in a suit. English pulls a cigarette from it's pack and places one between his lips. English lights it at the top of the stage and begins walking down the ramp.

Ruby: This man is Hall of Fame material Axel. Face it he has already beat the best, in less than a year here in VOW he identified, and sits on top of that mountain. It might leave a sour taste in your mouth, but the truth often does.

Axel: In all honesty it makes me sick. This man has the tools to reinvent wrestling, and he lies, and cheats, and manipulates.

Ruby: That is why he sticks out. That is why we can't have a press conference without mentioning the mans name. Getting almost kicked off PPV increase the internet traffic to VOW.com triple. There is no such thing as bad publicity, and this man proves it. He has made wrestling relevant. He does it all on his own terms.

English slides in the ring blowing a plume of smoke into the fans. English holds down the middle rope for his lawyer. English takes a few more drags off his cigarette. Then looks like he has a brain wave. English offers his lawyer a cigarette, but he waves it off almost shocked he would even ask. English shrugs and motions for the time keeper to bring him a microphone. English gets a hold of it and looks at the crowd who are shouting and roaring obscurities. English taps the micrphone a few times ringing the tap through the arena.

Axel: Yes, it is on English. Now hurry up so we can get on with regular VOW action.

English: Hello my loyal subjects. I have brought you all here for one reason and one reason only. To expose the corruption of this very company. A corruption that stems from VOW management. We are run by a dynasty, by a fictional monarchy here in VOW. The very head of that corruption is one Ryan Omega. A man that sent his wife to do his dirty work. Sent his wife to clean up what is a mans mess. So without further ado, creek those knees down here Mr. Omega and give me the face time I deserve.

Axel: What arrogance! What has this man really done to talk to a legend like Omega like that. Without Omega Casanova would have no platform for his sick propaganda. He paved the way for kids like Cass. What in the hell has he done to deserve Omega's respect?

Ruby: Maybe if Omega gave him the opportunity he would earn that respect. Maybe, if Omega had the guts Casanova could beat it into him.

“Happy” by Mudvayne plays through the arena. The crowd pops as Ryan Omega appears on stage. Slowly Omega makes his way to the ring.

Axel: Things are about to heat up.

Omega walks up the steps and comes through the middle rope. The fans give him as huge ovation as he looks across the ring at English. The music cuts.

English: It is about god damn time. It is about time you sit here and you LISTEN to what I have to say. See Omega here is what I have on you. You put me into a match with someone who is mentally ill. I met with psychiatrist after psychiatrist about the mental health of my opponent from Double Jeopardy Vanessa. They told me that it goes a little bit deeper than bi-polor disorder. The psychiatrist I have met diagnose Vanessa with DID. Dissociative identity disorder means that Vanessa has no idea of the actions The Queen commits. No control what so ever. Even if she is capable of knowing what The Queen is doing it is very difficult for her to stop this other identity. What I am saying Omega is that my lawyer in his brief case has statements from these mental health professionals that say V should not have been allowed to wrestle. That there should be a psych evaluation as well as a physical one before matches.

Ruby: That is exactly right. We need to make sure the beautiful bodies of our wrestlers aren’t destroyed by psychotic vixens.

Omega shakes his head as the crowd boos loudly from what English has said. Omega goes to grab the microphone, nut English hauls it away laughing a little bit.

Axel: Casanova is the only person I know more delusional than you Ruby.

English: No, I'm not done. This is where the bias begins. You have recently banned Black Magic as a move because it is too dangerous. Specifically too dangerous to the cranium of a mentally unstable woman you clearly favor. You ban a move, but allow her to be in the ring with me trying to rip my head literally from it's shoulders. You allow her to still compete not worried about the damage she may inflict by accident on her opponents. It's all right there in that brief case Omega. All the evidence, all the evidence that shows your gross neglect in your position. A position I have filled in for you in hiring Sir William Cambridge a reputable superstar. Filling in for the mans career you ended. Now before you get angry I'm just being honest. Edward called you out months ago and you ducked him, it was supposed to be you an Edward in that match. . . and it's supposed you be your career that completely ended. You allowed two men to almost kill each other when you booked Black vs Myers. It was a death sentence and you know it! You can hide it behind the word unsanctioned as much as you want, but that blood is on your hands.

Ryan Omega steps back and slowly closes his eyes. The anger is growing in his face as he takes a few steps back from the “man” addressing him.

English: Back to my match specifically though. This DID disorder that V suffers from allows her other identity to not feel the pain V felt, to basically completely regenerate. The way I see it, it is like another person interfering in the match. What I am saying is that if you were doing your job correctly the bell would of rung before I had to defend myself against a woman having a mental break. You think I wanted to bash her head in with a chair and ruin out match? What do you think I'M SICK?

English looks dead in the eyes of Omega and smiles wide. The crowd begins a chant of “YOU ARE SICK! YOU ARE SICK! YOU ARE SICK!” English smiles basking in it.

Axel: What a disgusting display. He is taunting Omega here. He is shoving all if this in his face all the while his lawyer sits there and watches. He is hiding behind his legal representative. You think he would get away with this if his lawyer wasn't here?

Ruby: He can get away with anything. He runs this place Axel.

English: No I didn't want to have to do what I had to do to Vanessa. Your neglect was what made me do it. Your neglect made me have no other choice but to ram a folding chair into her fragile little skull. So I have some demands. That is the good news. This lawsuit of you putting me in danger, of you showing blatant favoritism to other employees. . . that can all be brushed under the rug.

Omega walks over to the side of the ring finally and requests a microphone from the time keeper. The crowd chant s”Omega! Omega! Omega!” but Ryan seems less than thrilled still. He knows he is locked in a tight position.

Axel: What is this mad mans demands.

Omega: Look English I am not dumb enough to give in to your taunting. Trust me nothing would make me happier then to reach out and slap you across the face.

The crowd pops huge, and English's grin grows with the eruption.

Ruby: Do it old man! English will bury you!

Omega: I am also not dumb enough to not know this was a play the whole time, for how long I don't know. Everything with you is calculated, you have a place that your going next. Well I am talking from experience when I tell you that when you play the game that way. . . eventually someone catches up. Your finish line is in sight, and then BAM! Someone hungrier is there to eat the food you have been fighting for, and they will gladly watch you starve. So am I surprised I have been backed into this corner by you. . . I can't say that I am. So tell me Mr. English what are you demands? What is your master plan?

English: Well it is simple. First and foremost I want you to admit that my loss at Double Jeopardy was completely unjustified, and then I want you Ryan Omega to apologize to me that you put me in such a match. I want you to apologies to Vanessa for making me do what I did.

The crowd boos loudly as Omega gets inches away from English's face.

Omega: YOU want ME to apologies?

English snickers to himself before responding.

English: You got it. The mark of a man good at his job is how he fixes his mistakes. So please, get on with it.

Axel: Don't do it Omega. Don't let this little arrogant jack@$$ win. Don't give him the satisfaction.

Ruby: It's either this or a lawsuit. The Omega could loose his job, and in reality the whole VOW could fold. The fate of VOW is held in Casanova English's hands.

“ENGLISH SUCKS!” Chants begin as Omega swallows hard. His face is glowing red, but he lets out a breath of air trying to regain his calmness. Omega takes another breath before pulling the microphone reluctantly up to his mouth.

Omega: It. . . was a mistake to place you in a match with Vanessa. I would. . . I would like to apologize to you Mr. English.

English: FOR WHAT!

He yells it right in Omega's face. Who closes his eyes slowly trying not to react to his abuser.

Omega: For placing you in a match that put you in danger, and for putting you in the position of attacking Vanessa. . . . for that I am very sorry to. . . V.

English smiles and the crowd is going nuts.

Axel: he is completely belittling Ryan Omega here. Ryan must be hating this situation. This is a man that smeared tobacco across the lips of his wife. A man that unjustifiably attacked Vanessa with a chair.

Ruby: You can't say that. Omega is taking ownership for it. . .

Axel: I don't care what Omega is forcing into saying to keep this company above ground Casanova English is the scum of the universe and I will stand by that fact until the day I die. He is a snake.

Omega: So. . . is that it?

Omega drops his microphone disrespectfully and turns to leave.

English: No. No that isn't it . . .

Ruby: I knew Casanova wasn't gong to let Omega go with a simple apology.

Axel: Simple apology? He just embarrassed this man in front of all these fans. He took credit away from the job this man has done. Look at the amazing talent that Omega has brought into this organization.

English: What I want is for you and the rest of VOW to finally admit I am the best wrestler to step through these ropes every week. I am hands down the backbone, and face of this company and I am not getting the respect I deserve. That is what this is coming down to. So you know what I want Omega? I want you to name the the OFFICAL number one contender for the World Visionary Championship.

Omega shake his head and turns around.

Omega: You want the right to fight for that championship the first time? You think you earned the right to represent those people in the back, and these fans in this arena. Alright. . . alright Casanova. You made you bed and you will have to lay in it. I'll give you your championship match. . .

English: Good. You give me that and this all goes away.

English gets back in the face of Omega, who doesn't move and stands almost nose to nose with Casanova English.

English: You do that and I won't have to send you back to Detroit.

English drops the microphone still standing face to face with Omega.

Axel: This makes me sick. He muscled himself into the World Championship picture. How unfiar is this for the rest of the roster.

Ruby: Casanova knew what he wanted from day one, and he ism methodically capturing it. People should look up to this man. He wants that World Visionary Championship. . . so he made himself number one contender.

The lawyer comes over to separate Casanova and Omega as the scene begins to fade to the VOW logo.
