The Quest For The Case is our version of the Money In The Bank Briefcase... only not quite. Here are the rules regardiing the case to help you better understand the logistics of it for your Roleplays, should you qualify for a chance to get into the actual match:
- The Quest For The Case Match is an exclusive match for Heatstroke PPV events every year, featuring six competitors that qualify.
- For the past two events, the match type has been a Ladder Match. However, this may not always be the case, depending on how recent or frequent the Ladder Match stipulation has been used on previous shows. The match type will be announced on the show before the Heatstroke PPV and later on the actual card.
- The prize inside the briefcase is UNKNOWN to the competitors.
- Prizes could include championship matches, awards, money, or something that can benefit the characters involved. Basically, the prize is RANDOMLY selected each year - truthfully, it's discussed and selected by the Staff beforehand.
- Competitors are allowed to speculate what could be inside the Briefcase in their Roleplays, but NONE of them will know what it is for certain. Do not act like they have perfect knowledge of its contents.
- Once a competitor wins the Quest For The Case Match, they have until the next Heatstroke PPV the following year to open it. They do not have to open the case immediately, but they have the option to do so.
- If a handler wishes to open the briefcase, they will need to LET THE STAFF KNOW BEFOREHAND. Permission will be granted if the circumstances allow the case to be opened.
- After the handler requests to open the briefcase - and has been granted permission to do so by Staff - a segment will be written up on the next show, where they will discover the reward inside.
- There is one warning regarding this briefcase though. Should the handler that wins the briefcase open it in a Roleplay, in a Social Media post or elsewhere without the staff knowing, THEY WILL FORFEIT ITS CONTENTS IMMEDIATELY.
For Heatstroke 2016, the match stipulation for Quest For The Case became a 30-Minute Iron Man Match featuring the usual six participants. Here are the rules as follows:
- The participant that achieves the most pinfalls and submissions in the alloted time wins the case.
- Managers, valets and other associates of the participants are forbidden from ringside.
- Count-Outs do not apply in this match.
- Should a participant use a weapon with intent, they will be deducted a point from their score.
- Any outside interference on behalf of a participant will also deduct a point from their score.
- The participant who gets attacked with a weapon or by an outsider will have a point added to their score.
- If the violator is on zero points, they will go into negative figures as a punishment.
- The violator will also not be allowed to compete for two minutes. This is known as the Penalty Box Rule.
- There will be two extra officials outside the ring to keep track of the action and note any violations.
- In the case of a tie between two or more participants, the match will go to sudden death involving those participants only. The first pinfall and submission achieved wins the match.
Hopefully that clears up any confusion the competitors might have heading into the match. Best of luck to everyone involved!
May the odds be ever in your favor.
