We open up to the VoW newsroom and as always are greeted with the appearance of VoW News Reporters, Joey Nitro and Zelda Lawson sitting side by side behind the news desk. Graphics displaying their names appear below them and they both look into the camera with smiles on their faces.
Joey Nitro
Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the Nitro/Lawson Report with me, Joey Nitro and as always, the lovely Zelda Lawson. On tonight’s show we shall be going through all the big news stories from our special thirty-fifth episode of Breakthrough, aptly named, Proving Grounds. Then later on after that, we will be joined by Visionary, Katie Moicelle and take part in our usual interview...
The camera then cuts to Nitro as a graphic depicting former World Visionary Champion, Valquist, standing in the ring with a microphone in hand appears in the top left hand corner of the screen.
Joey Nitro
Our first top news story of the evening came at the end of the show when former World Visionary Champion, Valquist addressed the VoW faithful in regards to his upcoming rematch against Casanova English for the World Visionary Championship at our next Pay-Per-View event, Darkest Hour. The Valiant One successfully defeated the newest member of The Orphanage, Winter Pine earlier in the evening and then proceeded to close the show where he seems to have made it clear to the world that if he fails to regain the World title from the Modern Day Messiah at Darkest Hour, he will leave the company...ultimately, it seems as if he’s went ahead and put his career on the line in this match. If that is indeed the case, I do sincerely hope that Valquist does indeed manage to recapture the World title, because it will certainly be a real shame if the VoW ended up losing a talent such as Valquist...
The camera cuts over to Lawson as the graphic changes to Matt Robinson and Casanova English standing outside the ring smiling.
Zelda Lawson
I'm sure many in VoW hope to continue seeing Val in our company for a long time, so that match at Darkest Hour will have a lot of eyes on it. But now we move over to the events of our Main Event of the evening as Casanova English teamed with his Orphanage brethren, Matthew Robinson to take on the team of Zero Gravity Champion, Tyron Bickerton and Heath Williams, otherwise known as The Requiem. Now earlier in the night many questioned how well The Orphanage duo would do, mostly due to Mr. Robinson seemingly being subjected to some sinister tricks from rival, Seifer Black that caused him to suffer from some hallucinations throughout the evening. But, at the end, the brothers in arms prevailed over Bickerton and Williams, in controversial fashion may I add as Bickerton was pinned by Robinson, who wasn’t the legal man and had also gotten in a low blow on both Bickerton and Williams while the referee was down. None the less, The Orphanage prove again why they still are dominant in VoW, and The Requiem nonetheless showed the world that they are gonna be stepping up to the next level in VoW very soon...
Back to Nitro, the camera goes and the graphic changes to show Ryder Blade with his title held aloft.
Joey Nitro
Those two young upstarts are certainly taking VoW by storm...moving now onto a different kind of Storm though, and of course I am referring to Tyler Storm who went one on one with Xcel Champion, Ryder Blade in a non-title match. It was truly a classic wrestling bout between two great wrestlers and there were many points in the match where it seemed as if Storm was going to be the one to finally end the undefeated streak that the Xcel Champ is on. Unfortunately, in traditional Ryder Blade fashion, he would ultimately pick up the victory in controversial fashion, thus keeping his undefeated streak intact. Sooner or later though Zelda, Blade’s number will surely be up, but the question remains, who will be the person to finally put an end to the Xcellent One’s undefeated streak...
Going back to Lawson, the graphic now changes to one of Owen Gonsalves and Artemis Kaiser standing side by side.
Zelda Lawson
I was really hoping Tyler would be the one to end it, but soon enough that streak will end. Moving on, late during the show we actually saw a meeting between our General Manager, Sky Sangue and one of the big fan favourites, Owen Gonsalves. Following the cancellation of his match with VoW newcomer, Artemis Kaiser due to control reasons, Gonsalves met with GM Sangue to see if he could get the decision reversed. In the end, he did get his wish, but will instead face Ms. Kaiser at Breakthrough 36 and, as Ms. Sangue put it, if things get out of hand in the match there will be consequences. This definitely seems to be a product of Ms. Sangue’s constant struggles with upper management over the danger a lot of the recent shows have shown...
The camera once again cuts back to Nitro who is nodding in agreement as the graphic changes to one depicting Blue Suede Bruce standing over a fallen Scarlet Flint with his electric guitar in hand.
Joey Nitro
Indeed, let’s hope for Ms. Sangue’s case that this match remains a professional, clean fight. Speaking of the constant headache that our General Manager has had to deal with due too a few of the Visionaries being out of control, another Visionary seems to have joined that group in Blue Suede Bruce. I4NI Champion, Scarlet Flint went one on one with the returning Blue Suede Bruce and after an amazing back and forth contest, Flint would pick up the victory, however for some reason...whether it was due to him being annoyed at the loss or whether it was something else, Bruce would smash Flint over the head with his electric guitar and we can confirm that the attack has caused head trauma to the Champion, however it seems as if it wasn't as bad as first thought. Whether you’re a fan of Flint or not, it’s never nice to see a wrestler suffer a possible severe injury so we here at VoW hope she is indeed okay...
The camera goes back over to Lawson as the graphic now shows Cera and Constance Chapin squaring off in the ring.
Zelda Lawson
Well, to be the bigger person I will agree, but of course you already know my feelings towards Ms. Flint due to her previous actions, Joey. Our next story involves the match between one half of the Twin City Champions, Cera taking on the former GPW World Champion, Constance Chapin. It was one of the more intense back and forth matches of the night, but of course in VoW things can always take a turn you may not exactly like but it happens. Cera picked up a very controversial victory over Constance by pinfall following the Twin City Champion striking the GPW great in the head with her tag title, knocking out Constance and setting things up for Cera. You hate to see such a good match end in such a cheap way, Joey.
Switching back over to Nitro, the graphic changes to one simply depicting a question mark.
Joey Nitro
Indeed, it seems as if there were quite a few great matches on this past week’s Breakthrough that unfortunately ended controversially. Nevertheless, moving on and our next story has quite simply got the VoW faithful utterly confused. Midway through the show, we were treated to a strange poem displayed on the titantron, being read out by an ominous female voice. From what it sounded like, it seems to be possibly marking the return of someone, but the question on everyone’s minds is, just who exactly is it?
Going back to Lawson, Ace Watson is now shown on the graphic.
Zelda Lawson
My guess is as good as yours at this point Joey, it will be interesting to see who it ends up being behind all of this. To move on though, Ace Watson definitely had a night of nights at Breakthrough thirty-five. Watson came out the ring during the event and too the shock of a lot of people, he called out the veteran, Seth Iser. After an exchange of words, it seems we will be seeing Iser take on Watson at Darkest Hour. Following this, Watson had an incredible showing against the current number one contender to the Zero Gravity Championship, Kincaid. Maybe showing a sign of improvement and sending a big message to Seth Iser, Watson managed to pin Kincaid for the victory. I mean you gotta love the effort Watson is starting to put in to make his name worth a bit more here in VoW, love him or hate him he wants to make this his time and you gotta admire that.
The camera cuts back to Nitro and the graphic changes depicting Ryder Blade and Patrick Jones staring one another down with Blade holding up his Xcel title.
Joey Nitro
Oh definitely Zelda, there are too many wrestlers out there who try and take the easy road in becoming great, but Watson defeating the number one contender for the Zero Gravity Championship AND challenging a veteran such as Seth Iser to a match at Darkest Hour? Now that, is how you make a name for yourself and that’s the right way to go about it. But now, moving onto our next piece of news and it seems as if another match has been set for Darkest Hour when veteran, Patrick Jones proceeded to challenge Ryder Blade for the Xcel title. Could Noodle Boy be the one to end the undefeated streak of the Xcellent One? Or will he just be another unfortunate victim of the so-called ‘Xcellent’ streak?
The camera moves back over to Lawson as Cera and Matt Slater talking backstage now graces the graphic.
Zelda Lawson
With so many people stepping up and Ryder finding a way to put them down, it's another one of those unanswerable questions Joey, as much as many VoW viewers want someone to actually end Ryder's streak. But now we move to a bit of a strange backstage confrontation between Matt Slater and Cera. It seems as though Slater is wanting to mend the previous bridge he built with Cera, which for some may seem confusing considering the stage in careers both are in now. I mean you may have a bit more insight on this than I do Joey, but I was a bit confused on the matter to be honest, I mean it's always good to see people fixing old relationships, but is this one exactly worth fixing at this point?
Cutting back to Nitro, the graphic changes to one depicting Zahara Matisse with her arm raised by the referee.
Joey Nitro
Who knows Zelda, from what Cera’s manager, Jen Ryette said, perhaps it is possible for the two to rebuild whatever relationship these two Visionaries once had. Moving on however, and we witnessed a match between two of VoW’s newest acquisitions when Zahara Matisse went one on one with Damian Knight and what a match it was. Both competitors did extremely well, they certainly impressed me with their wrestling skills and ultimately in the end, the victory went to Zahara Matisse. I can see a bright future ahead for these two Visionaries, Zelda...
Back to Lawson once more, the graphic changes to one of Dathyn and Joanna Thade in a grapple.
Zelda Lawson
Just more examples of how VoW has some of the best talent in pro wrestling, and that was shown even more in our opening match, which is the final story we are bringing you today, as the other half of the tag champs Judas Dathyn took on the re-debuting Joanna Thade. Now many have been curious about how well Joanna would take on her new kinder side, and before the match begun that showed backstage as it seemed her bad thoughts were getting the best of her before being calmed down by the veteran, Matt Slater. Following this, she came out and put on a great show with the Twin City Champion, but in the end the always clever Dathyn prevailed, hitting a Stunner for the victory and kicking our night off pretty good. I only question how much Joanna holding back her old self is maybe hindering her in ring ability, but none the less she looked absolutely great out there.
The camera quickly cuts back to Nitro for a second for his response.
Joey Nitro
She did indeed look great out there, Zelda...let’s hope she finds her footing here in VoW soon because I can see great things in her future.
Cutting back to both of them, the graphic disappears as they both shuffle their papers a little before placing them to one side, once again looking into the camera and smiling.
Joey Nitro
And that wraps up the news section of our broadcast this evening, and now we are pleased to welcome to our studio, a good friend of both mine and Zelda's, Katie Moicelle.
The camera pans out to show Katie Moicelle walking in and taking a seat next to Lawson.
Joey Nitro
Thank you so much for joining us this evening Katie. And to start off this interview, may I ask how have you been feeling, and would you be able to fill in to the VoW audience at this time when we may expect to see you again in the ring?
Katie Moicelle
Thank you for squeezing me in, Mr. Nitro. To answer your questions, I've been feeling a bit light-headed at times since the transfusion, but otherwise, I'm fine. As for when I'll be back in the ring, I'm honestly not sure. All I can really say is "not until I'm given the okay by VoW doctors," unfortunately.
Zelda Lawson
Now there might be a few people out there that are confused about what you mean by transfusion, and to inform everyone out there, Katie actually was involved in saving the lives of one of our other competitors and another close friend of mine and Joey's, Stacy Jones. Now out of respect we will continue to not go into detail about why Stacy ended up in the hospital, but do you want to share with us why exactly you did what you did for Stacy?
Katie Moicelle
Because I honestly cannot imagine a world in which Stacy does not exist...just saying that makes me cringe. Any world without her is a darker one for her not being there, especially mine. I guess I'm just trying to say I love her with all of my heart, all of my soul, and at least a few pints of blood. I know, it sounds incredibly corny, but it's also honestly how I feel about her.
Joey Nitro
Hey, absolutely nothing corny about love Katie, what you just said was very beautiful and both Zelda and I as well as many fans would agree with you that a world without Stacy is hard to imagine. In fact, speaking of love, that actually brings me to my next question, as for those also unaware you and Stacy have been in a relationship with each other for a little under a month now. People are of course knowing that you had been under Stacy's wing for a good while as her protégé and you were involved in a match with her ex-fiancé, Tayla Williams in which you won, but how did you end up being in a now love based relationship with Stacy?
Katie Moicelle
Yeah, that was the last time I've won a match as of this interview, sadly...erm, but to answer, I think from Tayla's scorn for me, Stacy, in a way, wanted out of that relationship and a while later, I was there suggesting 'HEY MISS J, we should go out on a date!' and Stacy said yes, after worrying me half to death when I thought she'd say no. So, things kind of went north from there, I suppose.
Zelda Lawson
Well I think you and Stacy are such a cute couple, and that isn't me being biased as a best friend of both of you. But to not make this interview so gushy, I actually would like to discuss a bit about your recent performances. As you said, your last victory came against Tayla at Heatstroke, and since then it hasn't exactly been too great of a road. Now hearing everything about Stacy, many could assume that you may be distracted by this new relationship and that could be the reason you are down a bit. I of course would disagree with that, but is there any particular reason mentally that may result in how things have gone, or is it just a state of maybe you just need to find some new strategies to take on the ever growing and improving Visionaries?
Katie Moicelle
I think it's actually the problem of my lack of size. Did you notice how much trouble I was having trying to knock Heath Williams down? That's because he's literally almost twice my weight. Heath weighs two hundred and twenty seven pounds, I weigh one hundred and seventeen. Good for running fast, but not so much when it comes to pure wrestling. I even told him on Twitter that I needed to work out a bit more.
Just as Lawson begins to respond, Moicelle continues.
Katie Moicelle
Oh, and not to seem like I'm smarter than I really am, but I think I know the next comment: 'Scarlet Flint is smaller than you are, and look at the success she's achieved already here in VoW.' That's because she's been around this sport exponentially longer than I have, that's really only natural.
Lawson and Nitro both sit silently for a moment, then Lawson smiles and nods before continuing.
Zelda Lawson
And you are absolutely right Katie, Scarlet has a lot more experience under her belt, and there is still a lot you have to learn and the fact you are evident of that is definitely good. But what I was going to say is although size differentials can be a bit of a problem in this business, it really is just a matter of taking hold of the style that fits your body type. Pure wrestling is not impossible for someone your size but is indeed extremely difficult, thus why normally someone of your stature would resort to a more technical, submission based type of fighting, or a high risk form. It's mostly just a matter of being accustomed to anything an opponent throws at you, and being able to modify your abilities on the spot to assess the situation.
Lawson takes a sip from her mug in front of her.
Zelda Lawson
That is just Tyler advice I'm giving though, he says that kind of stuff all the time. But Joey, you may continue with the interview now if you wish.
Joey Nitro
Certainly Zelda, and great insight on that by the way. Now Katie, as my partner said there are a lot of new, evolving talents arriving in VoW, and that can create some competition for the current Visionaries to stay relevant. How does Katie Moicelle continue to better herself, not just as a competitor, but as an all around talent to continue getting the kind of opportunities and support you already get and maybe more.
Katie Moicelle
Well, as of right now in the grand scheme of actual wrestling, Katie Moicelle is irrelevant. She is Stacy Jones' girlfriend, and nothing else. The last opportunity she got to any sort of relevancy was against Ziu Zhong for the Zero Gravity Championship and she bombed, never to receive a second shot at a title. So, what Katie Moicelle needs to do to become more than Stacy's girlfriend and become something like Zero Gravity Champion is to just push herself farther than anyone else can dream of. She needs too, and wants to prove that she's not a joke, unlike what people like Ryder Blade think. Unlike what people like Casanova English think. Unlike what any other detractors she may have think. Hopefully by this time next year, the names you'll think of when you hear Visionaries of Wrestling, one of the first will be Katie Moicelle.
Zelda Lawson
Honestly I think Katie Moicelle will have zero problem in becoming relevant, but Katie as we wrap up this interview I need to be the one to ask this to you because this in the grand scheme of things could be your big message to yourself and this roster to jump start your rise in VoW. What exactly are your goals in this company, and what path do you feel you need to take in order to reach your ultimate feat? To accomplish this, will you need help, or is this a task you must take on your own in the near future. And finally, because as a friend I want to see you light the biggest fire under yourself as possible, can you tell the world who exactly Katie Moicelle is and why she is going to find her way to greatness in this great company that is VoW?
Katie Moicelle
The goal is a championship, eventually the World Visionary Championship, and I'll take any reasonable path to it that I can take. I'm going to have to do that on my own in the ring. How, exactly, I'm going to do this, I'm not sure yet, but I do know what winning big events are like, and surely that can translate over to VoW. Katie Moicelle is a soon-to-be prodigy of professional wrestling, and no matter how many times she'll get knocked down, she'll always get back up even stronger until she achieves her goal.
Joey Nitro
And I think that is a perfect message to send to any wrestler who may be going through something similar to you, Katie. Thank you for your time and good luck with your future...with wrestling and your relationship with Stacy...
Moicelle nods, smiling as both Lawson and Nitro turn their attention back to the camera.
Joey Nitro
And that’s all we have time for tonight, thanks to Katie for joining us for her interview and thanks to all of you for tuning in. Make sure to tune into next week’s edition where we will be talking through all the big stories from Breakthrough thirty-six, the final stop before our next Pay-Per-View event, Darkest Hour. Not only that, but we will also be sitting down for an interview with Rayne Draven-Omega, that should be interesting...
Zelda Lawson
Indeed, it’s been a long time since the VoW faithful have seen Rayne, so it’ll be nice to see her again...but until then, I’ve been Zelda Lawson...
Joey Nitro
And I’ve been Joey Nitro...goodnight everyone...
The camera then pans away and the lights dim as Nitro, Lawson and Moicelle chatter amongst themselves as the scene fades.
