Three Weeks Ago
Ian Windermear: Come on, what’s taking so long?
Ian Windermear sits in a doctor’s office. He had started to frequent the place ever since he had hurt his knee. Part of him wanted to be back in the ring and that is why he had worked so hard to get back into the ring. His knee was just the thing that had stopped him. When it happened he felt the pop that he had heard a couple times and right then he knew he was in trouble. He knew that he would have to go under the knife or rehab, something that he didn’t want to do again. He had been through it. He knew how much it hurt and he knew that any more time on the sidelines his career would be ending quicker then he wanted it to. The point was he was getting older not younger and well he knew his time was up. He had worked hard and that was why he was in the doctor’s office waiting, waiting, and waiting.
There was also one other thing that had pushed him even more to get back into the ring. It had started off innocent enough but he just started to fall in love with his new girlfriend Natalia Romanov and her little girl Ana. When he met her he wasn’t looking for anything but it happened and he wouldn’t take it back for the world. He loved her and her little girl. There he knew he had to get back into the ring, he had to provide for them. He had done that before with an ex and it didn’t work the travel and all of that. But being hurt he realized that he missed the business that helped him become who he was.
As he was thinking about Natalia and Ana the doctor came back into the room. He had an x-ray in is hand. The doctor quickly put the x-ray on the screen so they both could look at it. Everything looked good and Ian smiled a little bit as the doctor turned to him.
Doctor Hansen: Well Mr. Windermear as you can see your knee looks really good. You healed a lot quicker than I thought you would.
Ian again smiled he was happy to hear those words. He sat back down on the chair that he had been sitting at and he looked at the doctor.
Ian Windermear: So what does that mean doc?
The doctor sat down on his chair and he put his hands together he looked Ian in the eyes and nodded.
Doctor Hansen: Well Mr. Windermear. Like I said you have healed really well and I really don’t see any doubt in my mind that you can’t wrestle. Although.
The doctor stops and he looks deeper into Ian’s eyes.
Doctor Hansen: If your knee gets hurt again you are done. You will not be able to get back into that ring. This is the third time it has happened. I will sign off on it but I will tell you that you can do with it what you will.
Doctor Hansen excused himself as Ian sat there looking at the wall. Ian knew what he wanted to do he wanted to get back in the ring and do what he loved. Of course there were risks but there was risks with everything. Ian could walk out of the doctor’s office and be hit by a car.
Ian got up from the chair and nodded his head as he walked out of the room. As he got outside he reached into his pocket and took out his phone. He quickly dialed the number he wanted. After a few rings he quickly spoke.
Ian Windermear: I’m good.

Present Day
Ian Windermear sat at the hotel lobby in New York. People were milling about with smiles on their faces but Ian probably had the biggest smile on his face. In a few days he was going to be back in that ring. Something that he longed for. He wanted to be back in the ring and ever since he was cleared he worked even harder pushing himself. Of course he knew if worked too hard he’d hurt himself. But he wanted to do it he needed to do it. He needed to get back in the VOW ring and win. He needed to show no rust. He needed to show that he was still good in that ring.
As Ian sat there he noticed the camera and he slowly got up and walked outside. It was a nice evening in New York as he looked up at the skyline. He looked at the camera and he started to walk the people around him didn’t notice the camera they just went on their way. Ian looked one more time at the camera and he started to speak.
Ian Windermear: Well here I am. In New York getting ready for my match at Fate of the Gods.
No one thought I would be there. Hell I’m one of them. I didn’t think I would ever be able to get back into that ring. When I heard my knee pop and I felt the pain surge through my body tears started to flow from my face, or at least they wanted to. I have worked my whole life for this even if people didn’t want me to even if they said no you won’t be able to do it. I surged ahead. I did what I wanted to do and I wouldn’t take it back for anything in this world. Being in that ring makes me smile, and hell when I train people and make them better in that ring I feel a great sense of achievement. I wasn’t about to let an injury take that away from me. When I retire I want to do it on my terms. That is why I worked my ass off to get back into that ring. To make people cheer for me and back me and want to see me do well. I didn’t want to let people down, I couldn’t let people down that is why I have been pushing myself. Even if some people poke and prod at me. That is why I’m here that is why I came to New York and that is why I’m going to go to Fate of the Gods. Maybe people don’t want to see me get back in that ring but I know I want to be in there and I want to put on a good show and show people that I still have it. This could go either really good or really bad. I’m hoping that it goes really good because I need it to. I need to make sure that I did the right thing by stepping up and wanting to get back in that ring.
Ian kept walking and he found a bench he sat down and he looked back up at the skyline and took in a deep breath.
Ian Windermear: At Fate of the Gods I don’t do this dance alone. I dance alongside one man and that is someone that has poked me that has prodded me. That has spit on every damn accomplishment that I have done in that ring. Someone that kicked me when I came back and addressed the fans. Someone that needs to be taught a lesson and someone that has so much potential but he starts to lose it when he becomes a prick on social media.
Chase Michaels listen closely.
Ian leaned down closer to the camera with his hands on his knees.
Ian Windermear: There is no title on the line here Chase. It is just you and I airing out our differences which there are many of.
One of them is how I show my affection to Natalia you don’t do the same for your girlfriend but to call me out on it is a little childish but it is what it is I guess. You see Chase I like to show my love no matter where it is and be damned if someone doesn’t like it. It really isn’t my fault if that you don’t like to do it that way. But Chase that is not why I really don’t like you. I don’t like you because you think you are this high and mighty wrestler that hasn’t really done anything here in VOW. No titles won I mean you have had chances but you have failed at every single one of them. I have as well but at least I will stand up to it and say that I have lost and I have learned and maybe you have as well Chase but it just doesn’t seem it.
Chase you are younger than me and maybe that is why I am kind of whatever towards you because where I came from you always gave the people that were older than you something called respect and I don’t see an ounce of that in your body, all I see is distain for me when I haven’t really ever done anything towards you. You were the one that started this you were the one that escalated it. I was fine coming down to the ring and addressing the fans but you had to kick me and hit me with my finisher. You stepped this little warfare up and I need to end it I need to shut you up like I have said. I need to shut you up simply because I cannot allow you to say what you have said about me. Maybe if I beat you I can make you respect me and I can put this little thing that we have had to bed.
I have seen the temper you have Chase and I can poke and prod you at the same time you do it to me. Look at twitter and you can see what we have done to each other. Every day I see something from you trying to get into my head and Chase I need to let you know that you will never get into my head. You can talk all of the crap that you have and yeah it might piss me off it might want to make me take your head clean off but I never let you get into my head. This match is going to be fun Chase because we have been going back and forth for a while now, you have become the cold blooded son of a bitch that you have said you were. To be honest I want that, I want you to be mean and ready to go against me.
Ian leaned back on the bench and shook his head.
Ian Windermear: Chase, I want you to speak your mind when you finally have the guts to say something. You can run me down like you have been you can say how by you being younger you’ll be able to take out the elder statesmen and all of that. You can sit there and say that you can easily beat me and all of that. Which is fine because I want you to doubt me. When people doubt me it gets me ready to go even more. I want that doubt because I can prove people wrong. What happens when I step in that ring and I beat you Chase? Everything that you have said about me being old and how my legacy doesn’t matter goes out the window because I stepped up against you and I beat you. Now if you beat me, then well it was supposed to happen. You are supposed to beat me you are younger and maybe a little bit faster and stronger. You don’t have a weak knee, and you are smart but also with that there comes a weakness.
You might be smart but with the attitude you have it bites you in the ass. It bites you because when you hate everyone you never really get to have people have your back. You see no one really wants you to beat me. Maybe I am off base there or whatever but people want to see me as a hero and beat you so I can shut you up for everything that you have said to me, how you have ran me down. I’m sick of it and that is why I’m glad I’m steeping the ring with you Chase. Bring everything that you have, bring all of the slams and put me on the mat and try to beat me. I will bring everything I have Chase I know I will.
I’m back in VOW and I’m going to be better than I was when I was first here. You see I had to take time off and I have worked my ass off for this and I am not going to allow some punk kid beat me. Now if he beats me well I will chalk it up as a lesson learned but if I beat him then I will smile all the way, and I will be proud of myself. Chase Michaels is going to get a little lesson in respect.
Fate of the Gods I come back and make an impact. VOW, better be ready for me, Chase better be ready for me, because I know I’m ready to get back on the horse and do what I love. I’m not looking back, only forward.
Ian got up from the bench, he started to walk back towards the hotel the camera tries to stay on him until he was lost in the sea of people.
